Things get problematic when you have a counter of failed attempts when you try to enable optimizations with SIMD extensions on the DMD backend. LLVM is solid but we need to circumvent the problem with untested and weird codegen solutions because some people like "the hard way"

@lekoarts_de I can't agree with that position when people give proper credit but if your intention is really for people not create any derivative work, in any way, (aka not open source), please be explicit with a license that matches it. Open source is different from purely available source.

@lekoarts_de Do you really understand the concept of GPLv3 or even open source itself? The license is literally allowing people to redistribute a modified copy. I agree that is frustrating, if people don't give you credit, but otherwise it is silly to say you support open source.

@dd86k You can write on the Bob Marley favourite's build system, reggae. The configuration is in D and it can be compiled to binary. Although I don't consider it mature and versatile enough as meson. Meson still has some bugs to solve tho. All about dependency management

@dd86k Oh well, dub... I use meson as much as I can otherwise I always feel like my dub config is over complicated, spaguetti, or whatever, but the reality is that dub is badly designed and the implementation is a representation of hell in D source code
