It's National History Day at the Creek! Our U.S. History students researched new frontiers in history and prepared displays, websites, performances, and documentaries. Thanks to our county office and community volunteers who came to judge the projects.#NHD2023@fayette_ss@fcboe

@jkirk___ This year is the worst. You’re doing great if you have a bag of hair where your brain was. I have that nasty jello salad grandma used to make. I miss 2019!
@ELA_IntheMiddle I 100% agree. Busy work is anathema to me. I’m a huge proponent of paring the curriculum down to the bare minimum. Clear goals. Focused work. Dig deep instead of treading multiple surfaces. Legislation has worked against this for a long time, but it’s how learning happens.
A2: I love https://t.co/5U0dxsG9WW too. Some sts are more comfortable knowing other sts can't see them working. And I can push great thinking out to all my sts. #satchat#iteachmath
This post discusses how to make virtual learning more equitable in 3 steps and comes with a downloadable cheat sheet. https://t.co/29bIDVzZcr #distancelearning
@AubreyDiOrio @alexiswiggins For small group discussion and activity, Zoom breakout rooms work well. I like choice boards for formative and summative assessment. Students can record a presentation for the class without turning the cameras on themselves.
@AubreyDiOrio @alexiswiggins We’d open Zoom sessions with review and questions. Students used audio, chat, and the hand raise feature. I would prerecord a short lesson and play it for the students (equity prevented us from requireing attendance and privacy prevented us from recording the Zoom sessions).
@AubreyDiOrio @alexiswiggins Or students start back on the 17th, and I have lots of ideas, but right now, I can speak specifically to what I did during the quarantine. I used a template to structure weekly lessons and to keep learning targets clear and consistent.
