In many replies to the source post I saw a correlation drawn that government stands in opposition to our worst human instincts: greed, selfishness, etc.
And I have to wonder about that. Does popular vote really root out corruption in government?
It reminds me to always question motives and that what is legal is not always what is right. That how we chose to govern perhaps is as important a decision as what we govern
Auggie had to fix something under the kitchen sink. He lay on his back as he worked. When he slid out, he was amazed at how different the room looked from the bottom up. He crawled around his apartment that way, relieved to see something new, even if only the angle had changed.
