Bitcoin separates money from state - a core principle that matters. This is why Rootstock is key - it makes BTC actually useful. Mixed feelings on SBR though - good for adoption but questionable long-term incentives.

This is huge, and just the tip of scalability improvements coming into Rootstock in the next year.

Wait, WAT?! @rootstock_io just got ~60% cheaper!! 👀

Gas fees have been reduced from an average high of ~$0.57 (Sept.24) to ~$0.22 thanks to Rootstock’s merge mining partners (@AntPoolofficial, @SpiderPool_com, @FoundryServices, @ViaBTC, @f2pool, @binance Pool, @luxor, @braiins).

🪖For users: Rootstock is now less expensive to interact with dApps / smart contracts.
🚧For builders: Rootstock is now cheaper to deploy, maintain and operate smart contracts on.

Huge congratulations and thanks to everyone involved in this initiative.

Remember: as Rootstock gas is paid in BTC. As BTC moves against USD, so do Rootstock gas fees. We are working on a gas fee stablisation mechanism right now, which we expect to ship later this year.

Bitcoin the asset isn't most useful as an inert store of value. It's meant to be used.
