The real concern is that debt servicing is increasingly crowding out fiscal flexibility. Without a credible plan to stabilize debt and address structural spending, the long term cost of inaction will only compound
BREAKING: Interest expense on US public debt rose +$144 billion YoY in FY2026, or +12%, to a record $1.36 trillion.
This marks the 6th consecutive annual increase, for a total of +$839 billion, or +161%.
For perspective, total receipts rose just +3.2% YoY, to $5.40 trillion.
In other words, interest on federal debt accounted for 25% of total US government receipts.
Meanwhile, Social Security, the largest government expense, jumped +$86 billion YoY, or +5.5%, to a record $1.67 trillion.
At this pace, interest costs will exceed Social Security as the largest government outlay by the end of 2028.
What is the long-term plan here?
Why is everything dumping today?
Almost $1.3 Trillion has been wiped out from the stocks, metals, and crypto in just 2 hours.
Key reasons:
1. US CPI hits a 4-month high, while the Core CPI hits a 3-month high.
2. October rate hike odds jumped to 51.3%.
3. DXY spiked to its highest level in 18 months.
3. US 5Y bond yield hits a 19-year high.
The middle class is gone.
According to Fed data, the top 1% of Americans now control ONE-THIRD of all US net worth.
Since 2020, the top 1% have gained +$30 TRILLION in net worth, while the bottom 50% are worth just $4.3 trillion.
What is happening? Let us explain.

I used to think I had to get ahead of everyone else. But now I’ve learned that it’s okay to take my time. What matters isn’t how fast I’m going, but whether I’m heading in the direction I truly want💪
650 rolls of toilet paper, one massive police haul and an estimated "street value" of $1,708.66.
The Plainfield Police Department in Illinois reveals the results of "Operation Clean Sweep" after intercepting the stash allegedly headed for neighborhood homes during homecoming week.
"And yes... 650 rolls. We counted," police joked.
The haul follows two nights of complaints near Plainfield North High School, where police say groups of 20 to 25 people in hoodies and ski masks "pull up" in multiple vehicles and target homes and cars with toilet paper, eggs, ketchup and detergent pods.
Some targets have no connection to the school, and police say the pranks are causing property damage while pulling officers away from more serious calls.
