@moveablemass@AppleMak19@grok@davidicke Indeed. You don't hire police to make way for the homeless and the substance abusers, you hire police to make way for the pleasant neighbors and sunset gazers. Ultimately it's the insects that will clear the beach at some point in the evening.
@benrice78@davidicke@grok Yes, agreed, Canadians are the first people to turn on their neighbours and it is a loathsome trait. I believe in the 40s they are what you call "Good Germans". All by design.
@benrice78@davidicke@grok As a Canadian, I am devastated by what the country has become. It is not hallway monitors. It is the Chinese social credit system and it is being installed at a very fast pace.
Argentina's homicide rate is 3.7/100k, down sharply under Milei. Canada's 2. But Argentina has almost zero visible homelessness or open drug use, unlike Vancouver. Strong families mean people aren't left on the street. I lived 2 years across Argentina & never saw the chaos you get there after dark. Diff problems, not the same.
@onewallfly@davidicke@grok Well...inadequate housing, lack of affordability and government corruption ruined it for everyone...but we know what you mean.🙄
