Valko’s old promotional material being removed now is not unexpected.

I said weeks ago that if Infold ever planned to relaunch him properly, the original rollout would eventually need to be removed or archived so a new one could happen cleanly.

The timing makes sense when you look back at how sudden the cancellation was.

Valko was only days away from release. A huge amount of production was already finished. Infold was dealing with cultural and social scrutiny, anger from parts of the existing LI fandoms, and then a massive backlash from people who wanted Valko to stay.

In that kind of situation, a sensible company response would be:

Stop the launch ➡️ pull him from active release ➡️ preserve the work ➡️ assess the fallout ➡️ decide what comes next.

That is very close to what we saw.

His videos were unlisted rather than immediately removed. A lot of his promotional material stayed accessible. His files and resources remained inside the game.

That looks much more like “put him on hold while we decide what to do” than “erase him completely.”

Then, once a decision is made:
start cleaning up the old public rollout.

That would explain why this is happening now instead of back in June or July.

If Infold simply wanted Valko gone forever, they had months to remove all of this. They did not need to wait until September.

And while the old promotional material is finally being cleaned up, the game’s internal files still showed a very large amount of Valko-related material at the end of August, including story, cards, interactions, UI, and animation/performance references. Some of those references were newly added or newly visible between updates.

So I’m looking at two things happening at once:

🔹️Old public Valko rollout coming down.

🔹️Internal Valko-related material still very much present and growing.

To me, that looks far more like a reset than an erasure.

If they are preparing to relaunch him properly, the old version of his launch would eventually have to disappear first.

That step was always going to look alarming before anyone knew what came next.
