@PinClock@Red_Mage23 I believe I only ever presented that the choice is uninteresting and why/I dont think of time or money as a resource in game which is of course, subjective. The only thing I sent as fact was corrected by you and taken and reworded by me. Twt word count eats up all my "I thinks"
@PinClock@Red_Mage23 Okay then more accurately it was not the intended play experience for the original game, the point really is the same that its not actually interesting to choose between the punishment the game is built for you or the self inflicted one that takes more of your actual life
@PinClock@Red_Mage23 Okay what you're missing is that restarting in older games was never the intended play experience. Your punishment was losing the unit (unless its game over state) not spending additional time (unless its game over state and thus the game is incompletable)
@PinClock@Red_Mage23 Is missing Answers upgrade and then choosing to restart or not an interesting choice? I really dont see it that way, its abusing your FOMO at best
@PinClock@Red_Mage23 If you would restart. You just would. If you dont restart cause its not "worth your time" thats frustration because you're using this time to play the game. Its asking for ADDITIONAL real life time as a resource for in game reward, past what you have already decided to give it
@PinClock@Red_Mage23 There's a difference between using your time to play a game and your time being treated as a resource to be used like gold in game. Its kind of like the same way gachas and in game purchases are predatory in a way that buying a game disc isnt
@PinClock@Red_Mage23 I dont know why we have to pretend that resetting a chapter is like an interesting decision to make. Your time isnt an in game currency, and if you ever WOULD choose between restarting or continuing its basically only ever out of frustration like "let's just get this over with"
craziest part about skyrim is you can spend 400 hours modding it to be an entirely different game with graphics better than anything out right now and realistic passage of time with seasons and childbirth and a million spells and it still gets boring in 30 minutes
