“other drivers wouldn’t even give the position back” “he’s too weak to be a champion”
a living proof that you can achieve your dreams without changing who you are.
lando using hungary ’24 as an example of how one decision can affect teammate trust in F1:
"i genuinely probably wouldn't have been able to live with that for the rest of my life" (winning the race)
"the team wouldn't be the same as they are now. we probably wouldn't have won the constructors for the last two years, which probably means i wouldn't have won the drivers' last year"
you can’t claim a driver is being intentionally slow when he has yet to show any sign of consistent impressive race pace and instead has been gapped multiple times like that just screams cope no matter how many world champions you quote from 50 years ago
@OSCPIAastri81 “oscar doesn’t mention it in interviews to excuse a shit performance.”
nor did lando??? you’re literally quoting a pre race interview and somehow him saying “that’s life” before the race means he was using it as an excuse for his performance LATER? how does that even make sense
-0.396% in Barcelona vs +0.055% in Austria. And somehow people were still calling this a Norris stinker showing how high of a standard he has set. I'm afraid the best of Piastri is really just equal to the worst of Lando Norris lol
he looks pretty the car looks pretty silvo looks pretty landostand looks pretty i swear if mclaren ruin his race i'm gonna start taking matters into my own hands
tell this to lando that sometimes it’s not life. it’s your team gambling with your performance and then acting like you just “missed a few tenths” when you were clearly at a disadvantage
toto wolff confirmed that even though the engine upgrades introduced in austria were aimed at reliability, they’ve given mercedes (& its customers) a performance upgrade as well. this means they can run the engines more aggressively.
lando does not yet have this upgrade
i don’t really understand the logic behind mclaren not taking the opportunity to change lando’s pu after his quali result in austria and just starting from the pitlane. it’s not like he was fighting from pole and he likely would’ve been able to recover positions anyway.
sure, nobody knew if the pu upgrade would work but why not take the gamble for once and test it properly like the others did? today it's been proven to have been effective and even brought extra performance to those who fitted it. and now lando's going into a very hot SPRINT weekend, still running an inferior battery or facing a grid penalty at his home race 🙂
mclaren you have two cars, one of which is falling apart every session since the beginning of the season. maybe if you don’t want people to write angry messages about you, you should start addressing these issues and take accountability for once
