a generation of uk students were lifted out of poverty & finally made it to uni thanks to online spaces like the StudentRoom, the Hank Brothers, Khan Academy etc.

kids who's schools lacked curricular capacity caught up. i passed my GCSEs thanks to the internet, both schools i went to had books but didn't have the structure to teach a class full of underprivileged kids with no labs.

it's also how people learnt what universities required, why a generation of millennials & gen Zs started believing in mobility. why university entry requirements were raised.

Me & a Kid from a grammar school would be in the same forum thread trying to understand the same exam topic.

It helped a bunch of us have aspirations & finally have a look inside how the other world lives.

you're just feeding into this grander movement of returning the peasantry to the guild world. plenty of people read but seldom have literacy. bye.
