The insurance company’s are jacking rates but consumers keep paying. Until insurers can’t make their money it’ll happen. Negative externalities.

I was in the HVAC industry for 25 years. The most widely used refrigerants have changed several time over the last 20 years. Each one being “safer” for the environment than the last. However the fines for accidentally emitting the new “ozone friendly “ refrigerant vs the old is double. The guy that started this hole movement in 1971 said cfcs were causing the hole in the ozone to increase in size. Two years later he came out and said he was wrong, and that the hole was actually getting smaller since his study 2 years prior. However the government shut him down because they now have a new area of control.
Let me be very clear- refrigerants are vital to huma life in more ways than you can imagine. Keeping food safe to eat to performing life saving surgery and just 2 examples of unbelievably important uses for refrigerants. There are a host of others that I would gladly discuss if someone wants to engage.
In short this current ploy would change the lives of everyone on the planet in a very negative way
