It’s been a life-changing experience co-authoring our new book, Pattern Breakers, with my friend & VC @m2jr. The counterintuitive ideas have already changed the reality for my @StanfordGSB students. Now we will reach a wider audience, see link for details: https://t.co/Mm7MFgM2Uy
Half way through the book, absolutely Love Pattern Breakers by @m2jr & @localvc
Key takeaways:
- Inflection theory: the greatest pattern breakers created new human behaviors, such as those that becoming a verb, e.g., google, uber, tweet.
- You need to be right and not in consensus to break the patterns.
- You need to live in the future to building a pattern breaking startup, not living in the present.
While not everyone is building for ground-breaking or world-changing ideas, everyone needs to ask these powerful questions.
Explore the roles that insight and implementation play in determining a startup’s chance at success and why the best founders are like artists, with Mike Maples Jr. (@m2jr) and Peter Ziebelman (@localvc). Check the full episode at https://t.co/VXaGfr9BZb

I am hooked with the introduction. Looking forward to finishing it, and sharing my takeaways.
“The biggest challenge to creating breakthrough start-up is overcoming the limitations imposed by the established patterns of thinking shared by people living in the present.”
- @m2jr@localvc
This can be applied to almost anything. Whether it is a startup or a lifestyle business or any two countries in a war or any new world as such of network state. Limitations imposed by existing situations and mindsets of today limit the capacity to become what it may be tomorrow. Living in the future is such an opportunity to look for a brighter tomorrow.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading @m2jr & @localvc's new book "Pattern Breakers." The author's exposition of "inflection theory" is brilliant. Their stress tests provide a useful means of analysis through the formative stages of the entrepreneurial journey. https://t.co/YV01H7Ad6U
