It is becoming f*cking dangerous: The Claude Code tool found absolutely every shot that I considered permanently deleted from my iPhone. Data spanning 4 years of photos and videos was continuously stored in a disguised system cache. Every application with permissions to the file system had direct access to them
I synced my smartphone with a MacBook to create a backup. Then I ran the Claude Code vulnerability scan mentioned in my previous post. The scanner unexpectedly flagged a folder that I had not even asked it to check, a system directory named PhotoData/Thumbnails containing over 183,000 items. Pictures, video clips, screenshots, absolutely everything I had gotten rid of
Archives for 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024. Shots I deleted instantly after taking them. Photos for which I manually cleared the Recently Deleted section. Originals that I double checked and erased a second time just to be safe. All of it was still stored there
What exactly was found in that cache:
A random photo of a recipe from a cookbook from 2023
Screenshots of shopping lists and notes with daily chores
Failed takes and blurry landscape shots deleted right during a walk
A screenshot of a bus schedule from 2022 captured for just a few seconds
Photos of price tags and store labels deleted right at the checkout
A saved meme image from social media that I deleted back in 2024
A total of 173,521 files. Some of them in original resolution. Everything neatly sorted chronologically starting from 2021
When you delete media on an iPhone, iOS simply removes it from your gallery and trash. In reality, iOS keeps compressed copies in the Spotlight search index directory. That is precisely how fast keyphrase search works on your phone. Apple never clears this area, not after a month, not after a year. Claims of permanent deletion are simply untrue
I decided to check the list of software that has permission to access Files and Folders. It turned out there were 19 of them: weather utilities, QR code scanners, PDF readers, and even an old flashlight app installed in 2021. Any of these applications could freely read the data I considered destroyed all this time
I cut down the list of these applications from 19 to 5 in just a couple of clicks
The beauty of modern technology is that it allows us to recall what we have long forgotten
Where does SpaceX find $400 billion?
That's the puzzle @TeslaLarry raises, and it's a big one.
The forecasts came in so fast that his own numbers had to be redone, and he says SpaceX could be $300–400B in the hole before that money comes back.
No one person can pledge that, not even Elon. It's underwriting at the highest level, with the top banks looking through to the committed customers and their cash flow.
But if anybody can swing it, Elon can.

My take:
While I reverse engineering my Wi-Fi router, Claude found f*cking scary privacy problem...
Internet provider sees every site I open and can change anything in my router without asking me
here's what else it found and 5 steps to fix yours:
what Claude found:
• my router keeps a list of 29 devices that ever touched my Wi-Fi and see when new connects
• my provider can reach into my router any time, Claude found channel hiding in my connection name, and I have no way to turn it off
• every site I opened was looked up though my provider in plain text
• my provider's app on my TV box kept sending data while TV was off
• and much more...
and it's not just me:
- about 1 billion devices have this remote channel (University of Innsbruck)
- researhers pulled 2 billion+ router locations from Apple's Wi-Fi database, accurate to meters (University of Maryland)
how to fix yours:
1. install repo below (It also helps improve Wi-Fi speed) and send Claude Code a photo of your router
2. change admin password from the one on the sticker
3. turn on encrypted DNS, your provider stops seeing your lookups
4. turn on Private Wi-Fi Address, your phone stops showing its real ID to every router
5. add _normal to your Wi-Fi name, Apple and Google stop adding it to their location maps
Do it as soon as possible. Then read article below on how to find these problems in other tech:

Freaking unbelievable.

Can SpaceX really put up 25% of all new US compute next year?
@altcap's Brad Gerstner broke down the numbers from the call:
- 200,000 GB300s stood up every month
- 3 GW by year end
- 10 GW next year, out of about 43 GW for the whole US
And the payback? @TeslaLarry says it's roughly one year of revenue, and SpaceX CFO Bret Johnsen says it's getting down to 6 months.
Elon even says there's a path to 20 GW.

Palmer Luckey warns that the Pentagon’s reliance on Chinese-owned Lenovo laptops would have been unimaginable during the Cold War: “It wouldn’t have even been believable as fiction.” 🇺🇸🇨🇳
“It would’ve been unthinkable. It wouldn’t have been believable as fiction. And yet that’s what happens today.
Our largest laptop manufacturer for the Pentagon is Lenovo, which is owned by China.
Their headquarters has a flagpole with the Chinese Communist Party flag, and then the Lenovo logo underneath it.
It’s nuts.
I’d say one more thing about why we’re not beating China.”
Who would’ve thought in 2026 we’d still be pressing an issue of overreliance on strategic adversaries for critical technology used in our most defensible sector.
Can a delay actually make a company worth more?
@CernBasher ran the numbers, and the answer is a big YES!
In his example, a one-year delay drops a new business from $574 to $513 in present value, about 11%.
But if that extra year shows the market is bigger and growth jumps from 50% to 60%, the value soars to $1,480.
That's how Tesla's safety-first approach plays out. The P/E looks nutty, but the odds keep rising.
