@HOMESofFOOTBALL Used to go meet my dad there after the game, the gates opened at about 80 minutes and could go stand on the terrace with him. Good times!
Exclusive: a Hawk T2 getting airborne from RAF Valley, N. Wales. As it rolls down the runway flames appear from the rear of the jet. The Hawk T2 does not have reheat (afterburner). As the jet climbs the flames seem to disappear. The main Hydraulic system is on the rear left side.
Welsh Cardiff fan with the Argentina flag yesterday in the stands.
He must not be aware that THIRTY THREE members of the British Army's Welsh Guards died during the Falklands War.
32 of these men were killed on a single day, June 8, 1982 in the Bluff Cove/Sir Galahad explosion.
Our last harvest from these fields.@AngelaRayner accepted this scheme would cause “irreversible detriment” to our farming business and a significant impact on our family.
Permission was granted nonetheless.
Our last harvest. The consequence of a policy decision. 😢
@1adrianlogan My dad was 9 para RE attached to 3 para on Longdon. He was very proud of his involvement but it lay heavy with him too, rarely speaking of it in detail. He passed away in 2022 and I wish I knew more of his involvement. I view photos and memories on here with interest, followed.
I’ve had an amazing journey with this young man, too many tearful long drives home after taking another beating, always been ready to go again, and here we are at the Junior Wimbledon Championships ❤️@yonex_com@ltalincs
@HullTeslaModel3 @thehonestletter I was similar with overtime 20 years ago. People pay more now a month for a car than I paid mortgage on my first house back then, a thought I can't escape soI'm living in the past too!
@TTrasher7870761@MartinSLewis I pay 12% and have since my 1st pay packet so I don't miss it as never had it. The problem is with those who have it, commit to PCP etc then realise the level of contribution required to achieve a decent pension.
@SamCKx As a working British person I cannot agree with you. I can honestly say my life is worse off as a result of him being PM, increased taxes, no reduction in childcare costs and a huge cost of living increase, partially due to increase in NI rates for businesses.
On this day 1982, with several hundred other Royal Engineers leaving Southampton heading South to the Falkland Islands to build a Fast Jet Airfield, clear ordnance and repair the Islands services 🇬🇧
Or as my mate in 2 Para said,
'picking up the empty cases' 😁
One of the most moving moments of the Falklands War.
The burial of British servicemen killed at Darwin and Goose Green, filmed in Ajax Bay in 1982.
Gone, but never forgotten.
On this Day 1982. Falkland Islands. British Forces enter Port Stanley after Argentine forces on the Islands surrender
A hard fought Victory
From The Sea - Freedom 🇬🇧
My cousin in the UK is moving house tomorrow, six people in the "chain". One of them this morning just sent an email saying he's £20,000 short and asking everyone else to jointly make up the difference or the entire deal folds.
"Don't thank me and don't say I'm a hero. I'm no hero, I was lucky, I'm here. All the heroes are dead and I'll never forget them as long as I live."
The remarkable D-Day veteran Harry Billinge MBE.
Harry sadly passed away on 5 April 2022 at the age of 96.
His generation saved the world.
Never forget 😢
