@wendyp4545 What exactly do you expect sitting out to accomplish—and who are you really punishing? If you normally vote Republican, staying home doesn’t give Democrats another vote, but it does make it easier for them to win. The election will still be decided, just without your voice.
@wendyp4545 Of course your vote is yours. But sitting out is still a choice, and it has consequences. No party or politician will do everything we want. We have to look at what each side is actually offering and vote for the direction we believe is better—even when we’re disappointed.
@GlammaSooz@ryanmanatee In Massachusetts, prosecutors can check prospective jurors’ criminal histories, and that information must be disclosed to the defense. Neither side used a challenge to remove him from the jury. We don’t know what was checked in this case.
@imdanabowling That’s your opinion. I watched the trial too, and I believe the prosecution proved its case. What’s being done to this lone juror is wrong. I seriously doubt anyone would be digging through his background if he had voted NGBRI with the other 11.
@katie3626@Bederowlaw People keep saying this juror “lied” on his questionnaire, but his questionnaire is confidential and has not been made public. NBC itself says it cannot confirm how he answered it. Unless evidence shows he gave a false answer, calling him a liar is speculation.
@broadwaybabyto@opinionbelow Having accusations against him does not prove he lied on his juror questionnaire or was ineligible to serve. In Massachusetts, criminal history can be checked during jury selection. Unless there’s evidence he gave a false answer, people are jumping to conclusions.
@broadwaybabyto You’re presenting accusations and secondhand claims as established facts. Have you actually spoken to him? If not, you’re hearing one side. You don’t know the family dynamic or full context—and none of this proves his judgment as a juror was wrong.
@_NoseyRen@HearToEducate The prosecution and defense both selected this man to be on the jury.
Unless you’ve spoken to that juror you don’t know what actually happened. Anyone can make allegations. Was he convicted of anything?
@WMurphyLaw Were all of the jurors fully investigated like this or just this one juror?
If he voted the way the rest of the jury did, I doubt people would be concerned he lied on his jury form.
@KidsNewsHuzTatt@NBC10Boston Did you investigate all 11 other jurors with the same intensity? You talked to other people about him, not him. You don’t know the full story, whether the allegations were disputed, or the dynamics involved.
@CTKayMarie I don’t find this funny at all. I find it sad that you do. Whatever his personal issues may be, I’m still thankful he didn’t cave to pressure from the other jurors. And if we’re digging into his personal life, why not investigate every juror equally? This reasoning is sickening.
@Lisaelizabeth Unless it’s proven he lied or omitted something on his jury questionnaire, he was accepted by both sides during voir dire. So why is his background suddenly being treated as a problem now, after the verdict didn’t go the way some people wanted?
@AmberMarieHalli@GogIvanka Unless it’s proven he lied or omitted something on his jury questionnaire, he was accepted by both sides during voir dire. So why is his background suddenly being treated as a problem now, after the verdict didn’t go the way some people wanted?
@TJoePeters@micyoung75 If we’re going to judge political platforms by Jesus’ teachings, we should look at the whole of Scripture, not just one issue. Jesus taught love of God & neighbor, care for the needy, repentance from sin, truth, mercy & justice. Read both platforms & compare them biblically.
@NationalistPAWG@MR_Noticer@honestpollster But we don’t really know that’s what the juror himself said. We know how the foreperson described his position. Without hearing directly from the juror about his reasoning, I don’t think we can say for certain that he was refusing to follow the law.
@NationalistPAWG@honestpollster How do we know he wasn’t following the court’s instructions? We know what the foreperson reported, but there was no individual inquiry into his reasoning. Isn’t it possible he simply weighed the evidence differently and believed the Commonwealth met its burden?
@CandaceGuardian@baroncoleman@brandisiciliani@RealCandaceO@CarriePrejean1@realstewpeters A video isn’t self-authenticating simply because it’s released online. How do you know when it was recorded, where it came from, or that it’s complete? If it’s important, it can be introduced at trial, authenticated, and tested through testimony and cross-examination.
