This is a huge loss for our delegation and our community. I learned a lot from Rep. Alexander and will miss serving with him. My prayers are with the Alexander family.
We must keep violence out of our politics. I condemn yesterday’s attack and am praying for the victims as well as the future of our nation. It is up to all of us to engage peacefully and fully in our democracy and work for the future of America.
On Memorial Day, we honor the sacrifices of those who gave their lives to protect our country. Today, and every day, let our actions and service be the best reflections of our gratitude.
CMPD continues to be astounded by the level of community support that we have received this week.
In the latest show of support, @Lowes has been gracious enough to offer blue LED light bulbs for FREE at 30 Lowe’s locations in Charlotte. The goal is that residents who receive these bulbs will install them on their front porch to show their support for all law enforcement officers.
The bulbs will begin to be distributed this weekend. See your local Lowe’s store in the greater Charlotte region for more details.
Today’s service for Officer Eyer was deeply moving. I am saddened for his family and our community’s loss. Thank you to all who serve to keep our community safe.
Kellie and I are deeply saddened to hear multiple law enforcement officers were shot in Charlotte today. We remain thankful for the hard work of our first responders during this tragedy. The officers and their families are in our prayers.
We had a productive third meeting of the @Hunt_Institute STEM Access working group. We heard from education experts and witnessed the great work of a STEM School of Distinction. I look forward to working with my colleagues to increase access to STEM education in NC. #ncpol
We are excited to be in Concord, NC today for our third and final meeting of the NC STEM Access working group. To kick us off, @LoftonforNC provides a summary of meeting 2. #NCSTEMAccess
Why and how we remember can be just as important as what we remember. This MLK Day, let’s honor Dr. King by heeding his call in the Letter form a Birmingham Jail to use our time to oppose the “forces of social stagnation” and “make real the promise of democracy.” #ncpol
It’s official! Today, I filed for reelection to the NC House. 2024 is a critical election. It’s my honor to represent you and work for the people of our state. #ncpol
Thank you @Hunt_Institute for your work on this critical issue. I am honored to be part of this important effort to strengthen STEM education in our state. #ncpol
What a night! I had a great time supporting @CMLibFoundation at the 10th Annual Verse & Vino. I’m excited about our future main library and can’t wait to visit!
