You might wonder why the UAE is so obsessed with Sudan, alongside its obsession with other Red Sea nations like Somalia, Djibouti, and Eritrea, and why it keeps crossing every line and fueling chaos in the country.

The answer is simple: the UAE wants to dominate global food security while tightening its grip on every port along the Red Sea coast and building a maritime network reminiscent of what was once called the Omani Empire. To achieve that, it needs Sudan’s vast agricultural lands, its immense mineral wealth, and its strategic coastline.

Emirati companies like International Holding Company and Jenaan Investment already control over 50,000 hectares of farmland in Sudan, while the massive Abu Hamed project covers another 162,000 hectares. These projects are designed to secure the UAE’s food supply, not to help the Sudanese people.

But controlling such vast resources requires influence on the ground, otherwise, they risk being expelled just like they were in Djibouti, when the government canceled their port deal after accusing DP World of exploiting national assets and undermining the country’s sovereignty. And that’s where the Rapid Support Forces come in. The UAE has turned them into its armed hand in Sudan, providing funding and weapons in exchange for loyalty and access to the country’s gold, land, and agricultural exports.

When the Sudanese government refused several UAE agricultural deals because of unfair terms, and when local communities resisted these exploitative projects, Abu Dhabi shifted tactics, from business deals to direct interference through proxy militias.

This desert state, whose oil reserves are running out, is obsessed with securing its own food supply, and even controlling global food chains, at the expense of African nations. Its greed for Sudan’s fertile land and vast mineral resources has pushed it to back destructive wars and destabilize the region.

What we are witnessing is modern-day colonialism, the same mindset of old imperial powers, but this time led by a tiny Gulf state that wants to reshape Africa in its own image. The UAE’s arrogance, ambition, and selfishness are beyond belief. It seeks to divide nations so that every country becomes as small and dependent as itself, all while the world watches in silence and complicity.

WHY THE GOVERNMENT FEARS A LUO KIKUYU UNITY

Whenever Kikuyus and Luos unite, the coalition they form always leads to a tyrannical revolution.

It is a historical thing in Kenya, and everyone in government knows this.

Those who hate change and love the status quo have learnt to hate a unity between the Lake and Mountain.
And no, it has nothing to do with whether the phallus is sharpened or not. It's deeper!

In 1952, Kikuyus and Luos formed a militia under the Kenya African Union (KAU, which would later become KANU) to fight for independence.

Kûng'û Karumba and Bildad Kaggia met with a genius Luo called Ochieng Oneko to form a think Tank for the MauMau.

They were arrested and detained in who we call the Kapenguria Six

And yes- Ochieng Oneko, the Luo strategist, was a MauMau thinktank!

The white colonial oppressors hated to imagine a union between the lake and the mountain.

Whenever the colonialists killed a prominent Kikuyu, they'd scatter leaflets to blame it on the Luo.

And whenever they killed a prominent Luo, they'd blame it on the Kikuyu.

The idea was simple- keep these powerful communities hating each other.
Divide them, and rule them.

In 1963, Jaramogi Odinga fondly insisted that his friend Jomo Kenyatta be released before anything like independence.
"No Kenyatta, No Uhuru", he said

Jaramogi would have been Prime Minister. But he refused because he understood the Whiteman's divisive tactics.

Kenyatta and Jaramogi would eventually fall out in 1968; which soured relationships between the Luo and the Kikuyu.

Two young brilliant minds, Tom Mboya and Mwai Kibaki, would write down a beautiful paper on economic planning dubbed
Sessional Paper No. 10 of 1965, titled "African Socialism and its Application to Planning in Kenya."

The policies in the document would then lead to the conception of the LAPSET project in 1975.

Literally, every major infrastructural project you know today was captured in their plan.
Lamu Port, SGR, Superhighways, Etc.

But Tom would be killed!

The Whiteman had achieved his scheme.
Kenya would sink into a dark chapter for the next four decades!

In the late 80s and early 90s, the country saw a glimpse of hope when the Luo and Kikuyu communities came together again.

This time, to repeal the electoral laws.
They successfully repealed section 2A, which made Kenya a multiparty state!

THe Forum for Restoration of Democracy (FORD) party was formed.

But, like a porcelain mason jar, the new party would fall and break into several pieces.
FORD People, FORD Asili, FORD Kenya and every other FORD they could get.

The division now earned the tyrant Moi and the white man's cabal yet another ten years to loot the country.

In 2002, the Luos and Kikuyus came together to bring down the tyrannical KANU era! 70% of Kenyans rallied behind them to bring an economic revolution that would last ten years.

But how would they run the country on the punitive and draconian white man's laws of the Lancaster Constitution?

In 2001, Luos tried without Kikuyus to bring constitutional changes on Maximum reforms vs Minimum reforms. They failed terribly.

In 2005, Kikuyus tried alone without Luos to bring a constitution and failed terribly during the Orange 🍊 vs Banana 🍌 referendum.

In 2010, gracefully, the heavens conspired to put Luos and Kikuyus in one basket. The constitutional reforms came with the Constitution of Kenya, what people called the Kibaki Raila Constitution.

Kenya had never seen the kind of development that happened when Kibaki and Raila were in power.

Education was free.
Hospital bills were paid in peanuts.
Banks literally chased after people to register bank accounts.
Banks advertised loans and credit like ice cream vendors.
Raila's Tinga would bulldoze Mûrang'a Road and, together with Kibaki, built the phenomenal Thika Super Highway!
These were the good times!

Just gonna say this.
After the 2018 handshake between Uhuru and Raila, Luo Nyanza became a construction site.

I have never seen roads and infrastructure constructed in Luoland at that scale.

Many plans were put in place years ago but blocked by certain ministers and people in power under Kibaki and Moi.

While paths to cowsheds have tarmac in some parts of the country, transnational highways in Nyanza looked like type C roads.

Until Uhuru released the taps.
