Ever since Jaws in '75, I still hesitate before jumping into a pool at night, because somewhere in my mind, that music starts playing... and suddenly the deep end feels like the Atlantic. 🦈🤣
That trusty yellow Coleman jug-our faithful companion on every '60s and '70s family road trip. Filled with icy water from a roadside pump, it rode shotgun through summer adventures, sticky station-wagon rides, and endless sing-alongs. If you remember, yes you’re old. 🤣
K-Mart, 1982 Sunday paper spread across the table, red circles on blue-light specials. Tube socks 3 for $2, cassette tapes under $5, and Dad eyeing a $199 TV like it was gold. Those ads weren't just deals, they were plans for the whole week.
Who remembers? 😃
This landlord took a chance on someone who was just released from prison. Many others wouldn't take the chance, but he felt he saw something about him that said that he deserved a chance.
After three years, the man decided to move on from the apartment he had rented. This landlord now goes in to see the condition of the place and see if this renter's deposit is worthy of being returned.
Were you surprised by what you saw?
This bee, glowing in golden sunlight, is collecting pollen and doing the vital work that keeps our flowers blooming and our plates full.
One-third of the food we eat depends on pollinators like her. No bees? No almonds, no apples, no coffee, no wildflowers. Protect the pollinators.
Protect the bees! They're the unsung heroes of our planet!! 🐝🌸🐝
Oh the sound of a vinyl record through speakers! There really isn't anything like it!
It's odd - This stereo looks so much like the one that I bought at Sears when I was 16 years old. It wasn't a fancy Pioneer but I loved it just the same, because I bought it with my own money. Money that I earned working weekend breakfast shifts at a pancake house.
It had the AM/FM receiver, 8 track, 2 speakers, a couple of EQ knobs, separate bass and treble knobs and of course the turntable with the flip up cover! Eventually I would trade up and buy a full on Akai system that could rattle the windows, but I'll save that for another time!
What did your first "sound system" look like?
So let me get this straight. A group of "golfers", (and I'll use that term lightly), think its perfectly ok to shoot golf balls into housing neighborhoods, traffic, areas of business - potentially breaking windows, wrecking people's property or even harming someone by a falling golf ball. This is happening mostly in Los Angeles at present.
They're doing this presumably ALL for clicks on a social media platform. There's some 45k followers for this group and presumably they think doing this is peachy-keen.
Do you think this is OK? Any recommendations what ought to be done with them and their antics?
Clear contrast. One side builds America with secure borders, freedom, fair elections, and strong families.
The other side has one single platform: Hate Trump. The choice has never been more obvious!! 🙄😒
Money doesn’t change people. I think it just removes the mask. You see someone’s real character the moment they think there’s cash on the table that they’re “entitled” to.
Look at estate fights: siblings who never spoke suddenly hire lawyers to claw every dime. Family members forge documents, hide assets, or badmouth the dead just to get the bigger slice of the inheritance. I’ve been reading the court cases. It’s ruthless. I've come to learn that blood means nothing when dollars are involved.
The same pattern shows up everywhere: business partners, ex-spouses, even “friends.” When people believe they’re owed something, the polite version of themselves vanishes. True colors don’t come out under pressure. They come out under the smell of money.
What’s the wildest "I want that money" story you’ve heard or lived through?
This person seemed perturbed that the plant cart was too close and wouldn't let them pass. I guess we've all done this a time or two, pushed something out of the way so that we could just get on with our day. This time, for this person, it didn't quite turn out well. The plants and plant cart appear to have taken exception to being shoved around! 😏😅
Who knew there was such a thing as plant karma!?🤔
This car driver clearly had had enough of this nonsense! While I don't condone what that guy in the little car does here - I think on some level I understand it. Cyclists have wrongly come to the conclusion that as long as they're allowed on the road, they should be entitled to basically take over. Which includes not letting faster vehicles and others pass.
From all accounts, this is one of the causeway's in Florida, and this was not some scheduled event where cars were not supposed to be utilizing the same roadway. This was a pack of cyclists who adopt the attitude - I'm a vehicle too, so I'm allow to do this regardless of how it impacts the right of passage for other vehicles behind us.
Is it time that legislation adopt -country wide (maybe all countries should do this) - where there's a 10mph law for motorized vehicles? In other words, if you're 10 mph or more under the posted speed, you have to pull off back to single file (bicycles) or off to the side of the road (as in horse drawn carts, slow motor vehicles etc) to let faster motorized vehicles pass?
Gill: "This is a really simple question. Should illegal aliens receive taxpayer-funded unemployment benefits?" Newman: "I think people in the state of California should receive benefits..."- Gill: "So illegal aliens should receive taxpayer-funded unemployment benefits." Newman: "Again, that's your word and..."- Gill: "That's the view of your organization. I mean you were trying to get 1,000 signatures. You only got 503. I think it's worth pointing out because that's a crazy idea."
Why can’t they ever answer the question?
This young man would soon be trading in his bunny for his first musical instrument. At age 6 he dabbled with an accordion, but by age 12 and because of influences like Hendrix and other guitar gods of the day, he picked up his first guitar.
Self taught, he pointed to many influences such as Duane Allman and Johnny Winter because of their phrasing and musical vocal like solos.
I rate this man as one of my top most favorite guitar players ever. Do you know who he is?
Btw - I sharpened this image up with grok.
