கடந்த ஒரு மாதத்தில் மட்டும், சமூக ��லைத்தளங்களில் உங்கள் கட்சியினருடன் ஏற்பட்ட கருத்து வேறுபாடுகள் மற்றும் விமர்சனங்களுக்காக மாற்றுக் கருத்து கொண்ட 25-க்கும் மேற்பட்டோர் மீது வழக்குகள் தொடரப்பட்டுள்ளதாக தகவல்கள் வருகின்றன. குறிப்பாக, தனது குடும்பத்தை தகாத வார்த்தைகளால் விமர்சித்த தவெக தொண்டருக்கு பதிலளித்த We The Leaders தன்னார்வலர் ஒருவர் மீது வழக்குப்பதிவு செய்து கைது செய்திருப்பது கவலைக்குரியது.

சமூக வலைத்தளங்களில் தனிநபர் அவதூறு மற்றும் வரம்பு மீறிய பேச்சுகளை கண்காணிப்பது அவசியம்தான். ஆனால், ஆட்சியையும் ஆளும் கட்சியையும் விமர்சிக்கும் ஒவ்வொரு குரலையும் வழக்கு, கைது என்ற அதிகாரத்தின் மூலம் அடக்க முயற்சிப்பது ஜனநாயகத்திற்கு ஆரோக்கியமானதல்ல. முதலமைச்சரை மகிழ்விக்க வேண்டும் என்ற எண்ணத்தில் அதிகாரத்தில் இருப்பவர்கள் தன்னிச்சையாக செயல்படுவதை நீ��்கள் அனுமதிக்கக் கூடாது.

நீங்கள் இன்று ஒரு கட்சியின் தலைவர் மட்டுமல்ல; தமிழகத்தின் அனைத்து மக்களுக்கும் பொதுவான முதலமைச்சர். எதிர்க்கருத்துகளும் விமர்சனங்களும் ஜனநாயகத்தின் இயல்பான அங்கங்கள். சிறிய விமர்சனங்களுக்குக்கூட வழக்கு, கைது என்ற போக்கு தொடர்வது துரதிருஷ்டவசமானது. எனவே, இந்தப் போக்கை உடனடியாகத் தடுத்து, ஜனநாயகக் குரல்களுக்கும் விமர்சனங்களுக்கும் உரிய இடம் வழங்க நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டும் என்று வலியுறுத்துகிறேன்.

Modi govt destroyed the ISI-backed terror group Shahzad Bhatti Network ahead of Independence Day and thwarted its plans for subversive attacks by arresting more than 200 operatives.

Indian security forces ripped apart the network by launching coordinated operations across different locations in 14 states upholding a brilliant example of India's zero-tolerance towards terrorism.

Four years ago, I sat down with my 12-year-old daughter in the US and told her I was walking away from a successful tech career and real estate business to return to India for public service and politics.

At that age, she didn���t realize “public life” would slowly take her Appa away from her for months… and years.

But I came with conviction.

So for the last 4 years, we gave everything we had — for example -In villages like Subramaniapuram and Vellanaikottai, we built bus shelters, restored a 100-acre pond, removed seemai karuvelam, strengthened bunds, planted thousands of palm saplings, supported students’ education, organized medical camps and career workshops, built community sheds, encouraged youth and sports activities, and contributed to annadanams.

It cost several ten lakhs of hard-earned money - just for this village alone. But more than money, it cost time… family moments… and precious years watching my daughter grow up from far away.

Then elections came.

And the same village chose a candidate who had barely visited them in five years.

In the end, one week of election-time money defeated four years of sincere service.

Yesterday, my daughter quietly asked me over video call:

“Appa… can you now tell me what exactly politics is?”

For the first time in my life, I did not have an answer for my chellaponnu.
