Nancy Cartwright says she auditioned for Lisa Simpson but landed Bart instead, and Ralph Wiggum is her most requested voice
“I'm actually stunned when people don't know that the voice of Bart really is a chick. I say, ‘Yeah, I'm Bart Simpson, man. Who the hell are you?’”
“I'd like to say about 3,000 of us auditioned, but I went in originally for the voice of Lisa. The script was right there, and I saw a picture of Lisa Simpson and the description: ‘Eight years old, middle child.’ Then right next to it was this audition piece for Bart”
Q: “What's the voice of the character you get asked to do the most?”
Nancy: “I think that must be Ralph. Ralph Wiggum. The thing about Ralph is I love him so much, but they just sort of stick him in any scene because he's such a non sequitur in life. They just plug him in”
Glenn Miller and his orchestra perform “In the Mood” in Sun Valley Serenade (1941), delivering one of the defining musical moments of the swing era. The tight brass, unforgettable saxophone melody, and effortless chemistry between the musicians show exactly why this performance has stood the test of time.
Originally recorded in 1939, “In the Mood” became Glenn Miller’s signature hit and helped define an entire generation of American music. Decades later, the recording was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, added to the National Recording Registry, and recognised by NPR as one of the 100 most important American musical works of the 20th century.
@nilwxreports Thought the guy you voted for was not getting involved in foreign wars, lowering grocery prices, lowing gas prices and giving us the best economic conditions in our history.
John C. Reilly: “Why aren’t people on the right wing concerned about human rights? They’re human too. Elon Musk says don’t be fooled by the empathy trap. Empathy is not a trap, empathy is a superpower. It’s what makes human beings exceptional, our ability to look outside ourself”
Michelle Obama shades Trump: How absurd it is to even imagine that you might have buckled under the pressure even once. Lashed out in frustration. Lost your temper. How absurd it is to imagine that you might have done anything but make our family and this entire country proud.
