In Andhra Pradesh, a family of four from Kakinada went to a bridge in Rajamahendravaram over the Godavari river.

Panchayat Raj Assistant Engineer Nookaraju, his wife Meena, their daughter Sowjanya, and Sowjanya’s 10-year-old son Reyansh reportedly jumped into the river.

The child Reyansh survived. He was rescued by fishermen. But Nookaraju, Meena, and Sowjanya died.

At first, the case appeared to be a devastating family suicide.

Then investigators found two suicide notes. One was written by Nookaraju, and the other was written by Sowjanya.

Both reportedly named the same person: Sheikh Sadiq Khan, a rifle-shooting coach.

Sowjanya in her suicide note accused Sadiq Khan of prolonged harassment, threats, blackmail, and financial extortion. She claimed that private photographs/videos were being used to threaten her.

Sowjanya alleged that Sadiq repeatedly pressured her to convert to Islam.

Sowjanya also accused Sadiq Khan of being responsible for the death of her husband, who had died earlier. She claimed that her husband had been given a poisonous substance and that his death had been made to look like a suicide.

And, Nookaraju in his suicide note said that after the death of his son-in-law, Sadiq Khan entered his widowed daughter's life by offering to help her. He then began threatening and harassing the family.

Sowjanya’s 10-year-old son Reyansh who survived, told the police that Sadiq began visiting their house frequently and that he would often physically assault his mother and demand gold and money from her.

After their deaths, Sadiq Khan reportedly went missing from Andhra Pradesh.

After a search spanning five states, Sadiq Khan was traced to Meerut, where he was arrested with assistance of the UP police.

Three lives were lost, and a 10-year-old boy was left behind to face a future without his mother, grandparents, or family. Justice must be served.

आज कोर्ट में मेरे केस पर सुनवाई हुई। न्यायाधीश महोदय ने अगली सुनवाई तक केस पर पुलिस जाँच के लिए मुझे बुलाने से पूर्व जाँच अधिकारी को मुझे नोटिस देने कहा। यही नोटिस कोर्ट को भी दी जाएगी ताकि कोर्ट यह तय करेगा कि इसमें कोई तर्क है या नहीं।

कोर्ट ने यह भी नोट किया कि हमारे अधिवक्ता @jai_a_dehadrai ने हमारा पक्ष रखा कि उक्त व्यक्ति पर न तो कोई जातिगत टिप्पणी हुई, न ही उसका इस विषय में जातिसूचक शब्दों से कोई अपमान हुआ। अतः, कोई केस ही नहीं बनता।

Look at the way popular culture has marketed Hindu festivals for years. For instance, check any compilation for suggestions for Diwali playlist:

“Tamma Tamma Again”

But typical suggestions for Eid playlist:
“Noor-e-Khuda”
“Maula Ali”
“Kun Faya Kun”

Typical media suggestions for Diwali outfit ideas these days: sexualised styling - cleavage, revealing blouses, familiar Bollywood glamour

Typical outfit suggestions for Eid: Rich and covered

This means that they know what cultural sensitivity looks like, what a family gathering looks like, what sanctity of a festival looks like

But they apply it only where they want

The test of their intention is simple. Look at the image attached. Imagine her holding a plate for Iftari and the text saying Eid. Will any brand ever run such an ad?

2. Are these ads really made to increase sales during Rakhi?

The primary purpose of such an advertisement is not to sell jewellery for Rakhi. Conduct a market survey. Show consumers the ad and ask them whether the imagery is prompting them to buy Giva jewellery on Rakhi for their sisters. I doubt the answer would be overwhelmingly yes

Modern advertising works at a deeper level than simply saying buy this product. It is often aimed at shaping long-term attitudes

When the same kind of imagery is repeatedly used around certain festivals, weddings and family occasions, it leads to normalisation of a particular culture

Much of it seems to be aimed at creating a society where every aspect of a woman's life is sexualised. I would say it is the same mindset that wants to legalise adult men having sex with schoolgirls

3. How should the public respond?

Stop treating these celebrities as icons and withdraw your interest from them

The same actress as in the ad did Thumkeshwari item number and then pretended to be Ma Sita on screen - until we vehemently opposed it, ran a campaign, people responded and the movie bombed

Reject them from every aspect of your life where you have a choice

1. Don't play the woman card. You were not criticized for your gender, but for your choice of clothes in an ad. You are bringing gender into this to make it a women's issue and seek wider support from women and male feminists. It's not a gender issue. Even Ranveer Singh was criticized on Twitter for a nude photoshoot. He didn't play the gender card.

2. Personal choice stops where public commercialization begins. What you wear off-camera is entirely your prerogative. You've been in this business for years. Until now, nobody bothered you about your choice of clothes. You know why? Because nobody actually cares what you wear. The outrage here comes from a commercial choice: sexualizing a deeply sacred festival celebrated by millions. Context dictates appropriateness. If a male actor appeared bare-chested while portraying the brother in that exact scene, the public pushback would be identical. The issue is sacredness and context, not gender.

3. Claiming "clothes don't define culture" directly contradicts human history. Attire is a foundational visual language of every global tradition, you cannot wear a Kimono and call it Indian ethnic wear, nor can you strip a festival of its sacred aesthetic without altering its significance. If attire truly has zero bearing on cultural respect, then tomorrow is Eid. Can you wear that exact same outfit you wore in that ad and wish Eid Mubarak? You said clothes don't define the respect you have for culture in your heart. So do it and we'll take our criticism back.

Respecting a tradition means honoring its context, not commodifying it under the guise of fashion.

पूरे इतिहास में सवर्ण समाज ने ऐसे अभिजात वर्ग को भी जन्म दिया है, जिसने अपने ही समाज और राष्ट्र के साथ विश्वासघात किया। प्रस्तुत है भेड़ की खाल में छिपा एक और भेड़िया।

यह वही व्यक्ति है जिसने कभी बसपा के प्रत्याशी के रूप में निर्वाचन लड़ा था, उसी राजनीतिक परंपरा से जिसका उद्घोष था: “तिलक, तराजू और तलवार, इनको मारो जूते चार।” तब इसने अपनी सवर्ण पहचान भुलाकर उन लोगों से गठजोड़ किया, जो सवर्णों को अपशब्द कहते थे और उनके अस्तित्व को मिटाने की राजनीति करते थे।

आज राजनीतिक वेश परिवर्तित कर भाजपा में आने के उपरांत इसे सवर्ण पहचान तभी स्मरण आती है, जब उसका उपयोग सवर्णों पर प्रहार करने और भाजपा के शीर्ष नेतृत्व की चाटुकारिता करने में हो।

यह सवर्ण आंदोलन को राष्ट्रविरोधी बताता है और स्वयं को सवर्ण समाज का प्रतिनिधि प्रस्तुत करता है। इसका नवीनतम तर्क तो और भी अद्भुत है: सवर्णों को संपन्न वर्ग अथवा उपवर्गीकरण की चिंता क्यों हो, क्योंकि उन्हें आरक्षण नहीं मिलता।

अर्थात् सर्वाधिक कर दो। उन्हीं करों से संचालित योजनाओं का दासों की भाँति वित्तपोषण करो। अपने ही धन से व्यवस्था चलाओ। परंतु यह प्रश्न पूछने का दुस्साहस मत करो कि तुम्हारा धन कहाँ जा रहा है। भार वहन करो, जातिगत भेदभाव सहो और मौन रहो।

और यह महोदय हमें त्याग का पाठ पढ़ा रहे हैं।

इसका पाखंड यहीं समाप्त नहीं होता। इसके अपने बच्चे अमेरिकी नागरिक हैं। भारत की जातिगत राजनीति से इसके पास खोने को कुछ नहीं, पाने को बहुत कुछ है। यह चाहता है कि भारतीय नागरिक अपने बच्चों के भविष्य की बलि दें, ताकि यह और इसके राजनीतिक स्वामी उस राजनीति से लाभ उठाते रहें।

अर्थात् स्वयं का भविष्य सुरक्षित रखो, अपने बच्चों को विदेश भेजो और फिर भारत में रहने वाले भारतीयों से कहो कि वे अपने बच्चों का भविष्य जातिगत राजनीति की वेदी पर चढ़ा दें।

वाह रे त्याग!

जिस व्यक्ति का इस व्यवस्था के परिणामों में कोई वास्तविक हित नहीं है, वही चाहता है कि उसके समस्त परिणामों का भार आप उठाएँ।

यह सामाजिक न्याय नहीं है। यह सिद्धांत का मुखौटा धारण किए राजनीतिक अवसरवाद और विश्वासघात है।

The richest and greatest Hindu temple, Tirupati , recently trained 1000 Dalits in Hindu scriptures. They have been serving as priests in temple. Majority on the TTD board also belong to OBC community.

वाह भाई!! क्या भारत बालकनाइज़ हो गया है, क्या सारे कास्ट ब्लॉक अपने में ही एक समाज और राष्ट्र बन गए हैं कि कोई भी एक दूसरे के विषय में नहीं बोलेगा। क्या देश के संसाधन एक ही मद में हैं या इसका भी 1947 की तरह विभाजन कर लिया गया है?

1950 में एक व्यवस्था बनी और सबों ने उसपर सहमति जताई। देश को सुचारू रूप से चलाने और सबको भागीदारी देने की नियत से उस व्यवस्था को सभी ने स्वीकार किया। फिर नेताओं के मुंह में खून लग गया। गणतंत्र की छाती पर इस व्यवस्था को अपने फायदे के लिए बढ़ाते रहे। ज़ाहिर है कुछ लोगो का भी फ़ायदा हुआ, पर जिनके लिए ये व्यवस्था बनी थी, जिनके लिए बाकियों को कुछ समय का त्याग करने को कहा गया, उनतक लाभ नहीं पहुँचा। और उन्हींके माथे पर, उन्ही के बहाने कुछ लोग जो लाभ ले रहे हैं वो चाहते हैं कि ये व्यवस्था और बढ़े, और फैले और सबको लील जाए।

जब भी इस व्यवस्था में सुधार की बात होती है, वही चंद लाभार्थी नई मांगों के साथ आ जाते हैं और इस व्यवस्था को अनंत काल तक खींच कर ले जाना चाहते हैं। जिस गणतंत्र की नींव रखने के तुरंत बाद नेहरू ने जाति जनगणना को अस्वीकार्य किया, उसे हम आज 76 सालों के बाद करने जा रहे हैं। किसके दबाव में? वही जो चंद लाभार्थी हैं उनके दबाव में। और ये आख़िरी माँग नहीं है, आगे हम सौ प्रतिशत आरक्षण की तरफ़ भी जा सकते हैं, हर संस्थान को आरक्षण की कसौटी पे खड़ा कर सकते हैं। इस स्तर पर हम बंदर बांट कर सकते हैं कि फिर हम देश ही ना रहें, पूर्वी यूरोप के बालकन की तरह हो जाएँ। क्या ऐसा न होने देना सबकी चिंता नहीं है?

और यदि ये सवर्ण की या किसी और की चिंता नहीं है तो मेरा सवाल है कि ये आपकी चिंता क्यों नहीं हैं? आप वीडियो में खुदको सवर्ण बता रहे हैं, क्या आप सवर्ण के प्रतिनिधि हैं या संविधान के नीचे भारत के एक भूखंड इकाई के प्रतिनिधि हैं जिसमे सभी वास करते हैं।

और आपकी ही पार्टी ने उत्तर प्रदेश में राजनाथ सिंह जी के नेतृत्व में ओबीसी एससी वर्गीकरण के लिए कमीशन बनाया था। आप ही की पार्टी ने उत्तर प्रदेश में योगी जी के नेतृत्व में राघवेंद्र पैनल बनाया था ताकि ओबीसी का वर्गीकरण हो। आप ही के मोदी सरकार ने रोहिणी कमिशन बिठाया था ताकि केंद्र के स्तर पर ओबीसी का वर्गीकरण हो। आप ही के मोदी सरकार ने सुप्रीम कोर्ट में हलफनामा दिया कि एससी एसटी वर्गीकरण को सरकार सही मानती है।

तो इतना सब करने के बाद आप वर्गीकरण क्यों नहीं करते। क्या भारत के लोग जो इस देश की राजनीति को सुचारू रूप से अगले सौ सालों तक चलते देखना चाहते है, आपसे ये सवाल नहीं पूछ सकते?

इसलिए कहता हूँ कि ये सवाल ग़लत है कि सवर्ण क्यों बोल रहा है वर्गीकरण पर, सवाल ये है कि आप, आपकी पार्टी और आपकी सरकार क्यों चुप है वर्गीकरण पर।

गणतंत्र के कुछ लिखे और कुछ बिन-लिखे समझौते हैं। मूक समझौतों की तार बहुत पतली हो गई है। ज़रा और खींचेंगे तो टूट जाएगी।
