First basketball item passes, which would allow teams that play only one half of a JV game (not a full game), to have athletes play the one half of JV and two halves of varsity. Previous rules prevented that when JV teams only played one half. #wisbb #wisgb

A proposal to start the process to review and adjust basketball cutlines was originated at the Advisory Council (not through coaches committee).

Board approves it, which will start the process to change how cutlines are drawn, beginning implementation in 2027-28. Exactly what that will be is now up to WIAA to develop, with input from WBCA.

The motion to remove language that prevents teams from moving down a division if they make it to state passes. Was a basketball-only thing that meant you couldn't move down a division the year after you make state. Now removed. #wisbb #wisgb

To clarify some possible confusion about where we are with a shot clock in Wisconsin:

The WIAA approved it as an option for varsity, non-conference games in 2026-27 if both schools agree.

Full implementation (aka mandate) beginning in 2028-29 was moved forward to a yes or no membership vote in April.

Even if full implementation vote fails, the varsity non-con option remains in place unless or until repealed by the Board. It is not a trial, though it will help gather data to better educate the membership in advance of the full vote.

In your admin area for your Program, there is a Stats option in the left menu where you can see & filter info by all games, conference games, and game-by-game, with option to print. #wisfb
