First, please don’t bring 100 dB into the discussion when nobody asked for 100 dB.
The Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000 already provide a regulatory framework. For loudspeakers/public-address systems, the noise at the boundary of the public place cannot exceed 10 dB(A) above the applicable ambient standard or 75 dB(A), whichever is lower. The applicable ambient limit also varies depending on whether the area is residential, commercial, industrial or a silence zone.
Our request is simple: set a reasonable permissible limit, fix timings, limit the number of speakers and strictly enforce the rules.
But please also understand the human side.
Behind one DJ vehicle are several ordinary working people — operators, drivers, helpers, sound technicians and small service providers. For many of them, festival-season work supports their families, food, rent, school fees, medicines and daily expenses.
And this is not only about individual workers. DJ operators, small sound businesses, equipment owners, drivers and other micro-scale businesses depend on festival events for a significant part of their seasonal income.
For some people, a DJ is simply “noise.”
For these people, it is their livelihood and a small business.
Nobody is asking for 100 dB. Nobody is asking for unlimited noise. We are asking for regulated permission so public safety and the livelihoods of poor families and micro-scale businesses can coexist.
Please debate the actual request—not a demand that nobody made.
Control the sound. Enforce the law. Protect public health. But don’t forget the small workers and micro-businesses whose families depend on these few festival days. 🙏
Respectfully, you’re arguing against something I never asked for.
Nobody is asking for 100 dB, unlimited sound, or permission to disturb the public. My request is strictly regulated permission — maximum 4 speakers, fixed timings, prescribed sound limits and full police supervision.
If 100 dB is harmful, then enforce the legally permitted decibel limits. That is exactly what regulation is for.
Please don’t turn a request for regulated livelihood into an argument against an entire profession. DJ operators are workers, not criminals, and they are willing to follow every reasonable safety condition.
Protect hearing. Protect public peace. Protect livelihoods. These objectives are not mutually exclusive.
I have made my position clear respectfully. I don’t wish to continue an argument that keeps misrepresenting what was actually requested. 🙏
With due respect, if people are refusing to follow the rules, the answer cannot be to shut down an entire livelihood. The answer is to enforce the rules firmly.
If a few operators violate noise limits, take action against those violations. But don’t treat every DJ operator as a violator before they have even done anything wrong.
We are not asking for unlimited volume or unrestricted permission. We are asking for strictly regulated permission — limited speakers, fixed timings, prescribed decibel limits and full compliance with police directions.
“A violation should be punished; a profession should not.”
Regulate the sound. Enforce the law. Protect public peace — but don’t destroy livelihoods in the name of enforcement. 🙏
With due respect, comparing hardworking DJ operators with thieves is neither fair nor relevant.
They are ordinary workers trying to earn during a major festival. Our request is not to break the law—it is for regulated permission within the law, with limited speakers, fixed timings, prescribed sound limits and strict compliance with police directions.
If anyone violates the rules, take action against the violation. But a profession should not be labelled criminal simply because regulation is required.
Enforce the rules. Control the noise. Protect public safety.
And at the same time, respect the livelihoods of those who depend on these celebrations. 🙏
If the issue is noise pollution and public safety, regulate the noise — don’t simply ban the livelihood.
We are not asking for unlimited DJ sound or permission to violate rules. We are asking for strictly regulated permission: limited speakers, fixed timings, prescribed decibel limits, and compliance with police directions.
Devotional music or other music is a separate matter. The law should regulate volume, timing and disturbance — not decide livelihoods based on the type of song.
Enforce the rules. Control the sound. Protect public safety.
But give lawful, reasonable space to small DJ operators who depend on these celebrations for their income. 🙏
Comparing small DJ operators earning an honest livelihood during Ganesh Nimmajjanam with Veerappan’s smuggling is not an argument — it’s a desperate false equivalence. 😄
Nobody is asking to break the law.
We are asking for lawful, regulated permission: maximum 4 speakers, fixed timings, prescribed sound limits, and strict compliance with police guidelines.
Rule of law? Absolutely. We agree.
But enforcing the law does not mean ignoring the livelihoods of thousands of ordinary workers and small operators.
Follow the rules. Regulate the sound. Protect public safety.
But don’t criminalise a livelihood just because you disagree with the request. 🙏
Yes Sir 🙏 Heavy & prohibited DJ sound should definitely be stopped. Public health, children, elderly persons & patients must remain the priority.
At the same time, on humanitarian grounds, we respectfully request limited permission for small DJs with maximum 4 speakers, controlled volume & fixed timings.
Thousands of small DJ operators, sound technicians & their families depend on this seasonal livelihood. A complete ban affects their livelihood.

Kindly consider a regulated permission system with limited speakers, strict decibel limits, fixed timings, and no DJs near hospitals, schools/educational institutions & other sensitive locations.
Public health + peaceful celebrations + livelihoods can go together through responsible regulation.
🙏 Kindly consider permitting small DJs under strict conditions during Ganesh Chaturthi.

Hon’ble CM @revanth_anumula Garu, @TelanganaCMO, @TelanganaDGP, @TelanganaCOPs & all Police Commissioners 🙏
In neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, permission has been given for DJ systems with reasonable restrictions. We humbly request Telangana to kindly consider a similar approach for Ganesh Nimmajjanam.
Thousands of small DJ operators, sound-system workers and players depend on these few days of work to support their families.
We request permission for DJ vehicles with a maximum of 4 speakers, strictly within permitted timings, sound limits and all safety guidelines.
We sincerely request the Hon’ble CM Garu and Police Department to consider their livelihood on humanitarian grounds and issue permissions on time with reasonable restrictions.
Let celebrations continue, livelihoods continue, and public safety remain our priority. 🙏
