Dear @profbensaul, a booklet together with the attached petition was submitted to the Chairperson, UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, during the recent Indigenous Peacebuilding Submit in New York City. We remain ready to provide any further info.
#Breaking Manipur is witnessing yet another violent episode, as Kuki militants attacked a Meitei area in Tronglaobi, Bishnupur District, killing two children and critically injuring their mother who is currently hospitalized. More details Awaited!
Love's labour lost.
One Chin Kuki MLA, kingpin and orchestrating the Manipur violence, in desperate hope of a ministerial berth, embarrassingly walked out the moment he learnt that he was not getting any of it.
The master hypoccite, fustrated and to save face, has pressed the replay mode - won't be part of the Govt until assurance on so called Separate Administration.
The Shylock, who was eagerly waiting for his pound of flesh, but instead had to eat humble pie, now risks losing his seat in the coming election. So the low life frustrated soul will now instigate Militants and armed groups for further cowardly violence such as attacking Meitei IDPs, woman and children.
The new Government should take this man to task once and for all.
Thousands of Manipuris hit the roads demanding end of the Manipur crisis.
Key demands of the rally organized by COCOMI include.
1. End Proxy war (using Chin Kuki Militants) against Manipur. This will alienate the public from India.
2. India's national interest can't be at the cost of Indigenous people of Manipur.
3. Delhi should end holding Manipurs as hostage.
If our demands are ignored, the people of Manipur will be forced to demand "Save Us or Leave Us."
Cold-Blooded Abduction and Execution of Meitei Civilian by Chin Kuki Militants.
A Meitei civilian, R Mayanglambam from Kakching Khunou was abducted and executed by Chin Kuki Militant on Jan 21 in Churachandpur. He was working in Nepal and came to meet his wife who is a Kuki.
This incident is not an isolated crime. The 'abduction and cold blooded execution' of helpless Meitei civilians is a signature mode of terror employed by Chin-Kuki militant groups since the ethnic cleansing violence unleashed against the indigenous Meitei population on 3 May 2023, beginning with the afternoon attacks in Torbung, Churachandpur.
These militant groups have operated with alarming impunity, carrying out such barbaric murders, including the chilling murders of students Hijam Linthoingambi and Philem Hemanjit, and the Jiribam massacre, cold-blooded execution of three helpless women and children, including a 10-month-old infant.
It is deeply disturbing the Indian state which can carry out attacks on Pakistan and Myanmar cannot eliminate these bunch of Militant networks operating openly in a couple of Chin-Kuki-dominated districts of Manipur.
@PMOIndia@HMOIndia@LokBhavManipur Silence or inaction will only embolden further atrocities and make the state complicit in these barbaric murders.
“It is learnt that today (Jan 21) evening at around 1830 hrs. one Meitei Mayanglambam (tribal name Ginminthang) h/o Chingnu Haokip was kidnapped by armed miscreants (suspected to be UKNA) from Tuibong, CCpur.
The kidnappers took both husband and wife towards Natjang (PS-Henglep, Distt-CCpur) where he was suspected to be eliminated by the kidnappers.
It is further gathered that, Mrs Chiinu Haokip took prior consent from KNO & Tuibong DHQ authorities to let her husband visit her for a few days as her husband was working in Nepal and had come on leave. She was given permission by the concerned authorities.
The husband hails from Kakching Khunou”.
The time for equivocation is over. Indian State agencies must immediately and forcefully act against terrorist and separatist elements that continue to operate openly in Manipur. Decades of appeasement, restraint, and so-called “confidence-building” measures have utterly failed. The carrot policy stands fully exhausted. What remains is the absolute necessity of the stick - applied swiftly, decisively, and without compromise.
Any further inaction will no longer be interpreted as caution or complexity. It will be read as deliberate acquiescence. If these organised narco-terrorist groups are not dismantled and neutralised forthwith, the unavoidable conclusion will be that the Government of India has chosen to compromise with forces that fund themselves through drugs, violence, and ethnic terror while actively undermining national sovereignty.
Let it be stated without ambiguity: the continued existence of armed terrorist networks is not a failure of intelligence but a failure of political will. The selective blindness of the State, its tolerance of armed illegality, and its refusal to enforce the rule of law amount to nothing less than institutional complicity. Such conduct makes the Indian State morally and constitutionally culpable for every act of terror that follows.
History does not absolve governments that negotiate with narco-terrorism under the guise of peace. It indicts them. If the Indian State continues to shield, indulge, or ignore these groups, it will stand exposed, not as a neutral arbiter, but as an enabler of organised terror against its own citizens in Manipur.

A #Meitei civilian, Mayanglambam Rishikanta (Ginminthang) of Kakching Khunou, was reportedly kidnapped from Tuibong and later unalived near Henglep on Jan 21 evening. His wife, a #Kuki, had taken prior consent from KNO and Tuibong DHQ for his visit. Details awaited.
#OPINION | A report on Manipur’s ethnic strife by a civil liberties organisation is riddled with holes. By not verifying arguments, it places contested claims, half-truths and lies on the table, writes @PradipPhanjouba.

According to @PUCLindia,
Kukis were "driven out" from places like Imphal
And Meiteis?
Oh, they "left" the places like Churachandpur!
That's their choice of expression to describe the reality of people being rendered homeless in this unprecedented Manipur tragedy: "Driven out" vs "left"!
Does it convey their neutrality and truth of the matter or bias and plain efforts to present one community as "victim" while silencing or dismissing the suffering of the other community?
The fact is, irrespective of communities, people were hounded out, driven out, all were forced to leave, and still are compelled to stay away from, their homesteads.

TIM exposed The Aggressors of Manipur Violence
The @PUCLindia report paints Meiteis as the aggressors in the Manipur Violence. But @ThadouInpi_MN (TIM) memorandum to @mygovindia, @mygovassam & @manipurmygov shatters that narrative exposing how the real drivers of violence are SoO-backed Kuki militants.
TIM revealed that KNO cadres led by Deputy C-in-C Thenthang Haokip, armed with assault rifles, openly participated in the Torbung-Bangla massacre of Meitei civilians. These SoO militants enjoy State-sanctioned impunity through the Joint Monitoring Group, using the pact as a license for violence.
The brutal torture & killing of Nehkam Jomhao, Chairman of the Thadou Literature Society in Assam, on August 30 by KRA & UKDA cadres, is another glaring proof. He was killed for defending Thadou identity and holding peace talks with the Meitei groups recently in August, 2025 in Imphal.
TIM alleged that the SoO has been a complete failure, empowering militants to:
- Spread jihadist-influenced Kuki supremacist ideology
- Intimidate through boycotts & illegal edicts backed by Kuki CSOs & Churches
- Rig democracy via booth capturing, bloc voting & voter intimidation
- Run cross-border terrorism, arms smuggling & youth recruitment
- Expand poppy cultivation & drug trafficking, turning Manipur into a hub of the illegal trade on par with the "Golden Triangle."
TIM alleged the "radical Kuki supremacist network consists of Kuki SoO groups, particularly the
KNO, Kuki CSOs like @KukiInpimanipur, KSO @KSODelhi
, and Kuki Churches like the Kuki Christian Council (KCC)
and Kuki Worship Service (KWS), being the key drivers of hate campaigns, and violent Kuki supremacist agendas and policies.
TIM named key figures driving this supremacist network: Dr T Lunkim, supremo of Kuki Christian Church (KCC), Dr TL Angam Haokip, Pastor Onkho Haokip, Pastor Demlal Haokip, PS Haokip (KNO President), Saikot MLA @paolienlal , among others.
They are the architects of hate and violence.
The PUCL narrative crumbles when faced with TIM’s ( a Thadou Orgn which fight for distinct Thadou indentity and not want to be under the supremacist fold of Kuki) evidence:
Why does PUCL ignore that the very pact (SoO) has given militants the shield to unleash atrocities with impunity?
The truth: PUCL’s report demonizes Meiteis while whitewashing armed Kuki militancy. TIM exposes the real aggressors now.

"PUCL (@PUCLindia) Report on Manipur Violence: A One-Sided Indictment, Not Fact-Finding"
'By reducing the crisis to a simplistic binary and vilifying one community, PUCL ignores the complex realities on the ground. Its selective lens betrays a prejudiced ideological position that risks fuelling division rather than aiding reconciliation. Anything less than honest, balanced inquiry will only write the next chapter of conflict, not reconciliation. Manipur deserves truth, not manufactured narratives.'

Is the PUCL ( People’s Union for Civil liberties , India) not just trying to mislead the public with the report on #ManipurViolence but also maligning the integrity of every human rights org of the world ?
Here , int his report , #PUCL is trying to mislead by stating that the #ManipurViolence started in the Imphal valley, when the facts is that the #Kuki Mob and #Ak47 armed #KukiMilitants attacked the village of #Torbung and burnt it to the ground.
Why is @PUCLindia trying to mislead with wrong information ?
Are they being paid with drug money from Myanmar’s Golden triangle ?
Why is India’s biggest civil rights body bringing shame to the human rights body by sharing 690 page report with several misleading statement such as this one ?
Time for the international humans rights body to held #PUCLindia accountable for spraying malicious and dangerous information

🔸Understanding the manufactured communal - not “ethnic” - violence in #Manipur demands reflexivity: questioning biases, frames & assumptions. Without honesty & integrity, “facts” become tools to justify injustice.
🔸 #PUCLindia failed this test. In the name of a “People’s Tribunal,” it leaned on its past credibility but produced a lopsided investigation — lacking both honesty and integrity. This only empowers vested interests & deepens Manipur’s wounds.
🔸There is no mention of armed #KukiKilitants under SoO in the report where as cadres / leaders of such groups were arrested by @NIA_India and Assam Rifles (@official_dgar) in connection with the violence and drug trade.

📌 Exposing the @PUCLindia Report on Manipur Violence #PUCLReportBiased
The PUCL’s recent report on #ManipurViolence stands COMPROMISED at its very foundation.
If its references are drawn from individuals like Uday Reddy (@Kautilya33), who already faces an FIR from the @manipur_police for his inflammatory role in the conflict, then the credibility of such a report is NULL and VOID.
A human rights body cannot rely on instigators with vested agendas to shape the narrative of a humanitarian crisis.
🔎 What PUCL Ignored
If PUCL genuinely went to the ground and spoke to all displaced communities, they could not have missed:
✅ The first spark of violence was in Churachandpur, not Imphal.
✅ It was Meiteis who were attacked, chased away and forced to flee from their homes in Churachandpur, Torbung and other Kuki dominated areas.
✅ Relief camps in Bishnupur, Moirang and Imphal are full of displaced Meiteis (since May 3rd) from Churachandpur- directly contradicting PUCL’s claim that Kukis were the first to flee Imphal.
✅ If Kukis left Imphal later, it was after coordinated arson and attacks in Churachandpur, which triggered retaliations from the Meiteis on the night of 3rd May.
📹 Evidence That Contradicts PUCL
🚩A Kuki couple’s testimony in a video reveals:
They were eating panipuri in Imphal at 6:30 pm on May 3rd, 2023.
According to them, the violence in Imphal began only after 7:00 pm, after they had reached home.
🚩 Here's the link to their Youtube video.
https://t.co/xugG2ki9Ur
🚩 A Kuki woman who says violence started later in the Imphal valley. (2nd video)
👉 This directly refutes PUCL’s claim that Kukis were the first victims or under threat in Imphal before violence broke out.
🚨 The Documentation Gap
PUCL’s own report admits:
“Based on the material placed before the Tribunal…”,
"Examining existing documentations.."
and
“…written testimonies and supporting documents… including videos, photographs and digital documents.”
But PUCL never mentioned :
🚩 WHO SUBMITTED THOSE DOCUMENTS?
⚖️ If the so-called “existing documentation” came from biased secondary sources- like Kautilya’s one-sided Wikipedia edits (from a man already facing an FIR from @manipur_police for communal incitement)- then PUCL’s entire fact-finding collapses.
It means:
The Tribunal’s findings are contaminated by partisan documents, not grounded in neutral testimonies.
This explains why PUCL’s report parrots the same slant as biased media and online narratives, while sidelining the lived suffering of displaced Meiteis from Churachandpur.
⚡ FINAL WORD
By twisting the order of events and relying on biased documentation, PUCL not only marginalizes the #Meiteis but also tacitly whitewashes the real issues:
📍Poppy cultivation
📍Unchecked illegal immigration
📍Organized militancy
A human rights organization’s duty is to defend the truth and victims, not to legitimize the crimes of aggressors.
