Does a leakage of 7lt per hour (168lt per day, 5040lt per month, 61420lt per year) not enough to send an engineer to check for the issue?

We already know where the leakage is - it’s in the pipe that connects the main water supply into my property, which means that this is @thameswater’s responsibility. Just because it’s less than 10lt per hour does not mean that you are not wasting #UK’s #clean water supply! This is the water we are using for cooking, for cleaning and it’s so sad, as well as disappointing to see that Thames Water does not take responsibility to send an engineer to check the issue, and allow 61420lt of clean water to be wasted!

@thameswater The leak is not coming from the meter. It is coming from the pipe that is connecting the meter to my property! All I am asking you is to take #responsibility and stop #wasting 61420lt of #clean #water when there are millions out there that are struggling to find some! #esg @WaterAidUK

Thanks - this is what it says at the link:

“We're responsible for the water mains that carry water around our region. We’re also responsible for the communication pipe, that links your supply pipe to our water mains.

If you see a leak in the road or pavement, report it to us. “

I guess the fact that water meter is between my supply pipe and @thameswater mains, makes this issue your #responsibility.

@tkisinbay I think part of that can be explained by the fact that demand is being brought forward, likely due to inflation concerns. You buy now because you know it will cost more tomorrow.
