@linnea_1987 The issue isn't who is being investigated—it's whether everyone is held to the same standard. If one politician faces extensive questioning over financial matters, voters are entitled to ask why similar questions aren't being put to others facing allegations or controversies.
@Bbmorg In moments of national tension, words matter. Political leaders can raise legitimate concerns without encouraging grievance or hostility. Those seeking the highest office are often judged not just on what they say, but on whether they bring people together or deepen divisions.
Farage wants to be PM and yet called not for peace, but for rage, at a time a national tension. He is deliberately undermining our democracy and justice system.
@DPJHodges The most telling endorsements are often from critics, not supporters. If people who regularly challenge Starmer thought he won that exchange, then it suggests his argument connected in a way Farage wasn't expecting.
@MatthewStadlen Whatever someone's political views, there should be a straightforward line: violence is unacceptable. When public figures fail to make that clear, they risk sending the wrong message and distracting from any legitimate concerns they may be trying to raise.
Nigel Farage couldn’t bring himself to condemn the violence in Southampton last night when he spoke at PMQs today. Really shameful and hugely irresponsible.
@DamianLow3 The contrast is hard to ignore. If an issue affecting the country warrants an emergency address, then serious questions about a politician's own finances and transparency surely deserve clear and direct answers as well.
Weird that Farage decided the nation didn't need an "emergency address" on his £5 million gift.
Almost like this morning was to try and deflect from it...
@OperaSocialist Calling someone "scum" is not an argument. If Farage's critics believe he is wrong, they should challenge his claims with facts and evidence. Personal abuse only deepens division and avoids engaging with the substance of the debate.
Farage is sick.
He's just made an "emergency address" where he exploited the tragic death of a young person, Henry Nowak, to push his hate fuelled agenda and try to deflect from the very serious allegations of bribery and misconduct levelled against him.
Farage is scum.
@PolitlcsUK If large numbers of people believe similar offences are treated differently depending on the circumstances, simply insisting that "two-tier policing" does not exist won't settle the debate. Transparency and consistency are what convince the public.
🚨 NEW: No 10 says there is "no such thing as two-tier policing" in response to Henry Nowak's murder
"Police enforce the law without fear or favour, regardless of ethnicity"

Dr Khan makes a valid point. If they have done a 55 minute interview with Sturgeon about her husband stealing £400k, when do we get the interview with Farage questioning his £5mil undeclared gift and his house in Clacton his partner 'bought' with no money. #bbclaurak
@Mil15534Mills The BBC cannot keep claiming impartiality if large sections of the public feel certain political views are unwelcome. If someone has significant public support, people should be free to hear their views and make up their own minds.

Mr Farage just been told he’s banned from BBC Desert Island Discs..
He replied.. I’m not surprised the BBC is run by lefty wokeratie that are so “right on” it turns viewers “right off” funded by that dreadful TV Tax the licence fee myself Reform get rid of it …
@David__Osland If the principle is that essential services should be run for the public good rather than private profit, it's reasonable to ask why that argument would apply to rail but not to other key utilities.
Labour has taken four rail companies into public ownership, so that - in Keir Starmer's words - they will now 'be run for the public good, not private profit'. On that logic, why not do the same for water, electricity, gas and Royal Mail?
@MonitorX99800 If commercial ships are continuing to transit safely, it shows how critical stability in the Strait of Hormuz is for global trade and energy markets. Any escalation there risks economic consequences far beyond the region.
🇮🇷⚡️– Iran's IRGC Navy says 28 vessels, including oil tankers, container ships, and other commercial ships, have safely transited the Strait of Hormuz under coordination and security provided by IRGC naval forces in the past 24 hours.
