@CameronCorduroy I think this works best if you use the relative velocity of the box and the exit portal to determine the exit velocity in that case A is correct as there is no movement between the exit and the box while the relative velocity between the entrance and Box remains at the initial V.
@CameronCorduroy If you take B as the correct answer momentum is not conserved between the moving portal and the box. The box exits with an upwards velocity of V while the portal continues down with V. The difference in the lab frame has suddenly gone from V to 2V.
@MariGO2thepolls Wasnβt it the 1619 project that popularized it? If I remember correctly they originally claimed that the US seceded over slavery before a bunch of historians told the NYT that was junk.
@cheer_wine Thatβs not really true, the founders very clearly intended for the SCOTUS to have the power to review. The concept is defended in the federalist papers, and the court also engaged in actions similar to judicial review even before Marbury v. Madison
@FemRefrigerator The limit here DNE.
Depending on the direction you approach from itβs either positive or negative infinity, therefore the overall limit does not exist.
@gmoult There was supposed to be a galley with an ice cream shop inside it, but they ran out of money while making the βtown.β There also used to be a fucking MASSIVE hole in the ground nearby that only got filled in recently. Also the mayor owns the company that built it.
