Peer review was disastrous for society. It was established since WW2 and our rate of technological progress and has plummeted since and academia became dogmatic. It’s literally just selecting for groupthink
@KalebPrime Occult Crescent is the worst foray they've ever done and should be a cautionary tale for them about taking the autists on the JP forums too seriously when it comes to designing content.
@kitten_beloved It "can't be settled" except the political consensus seems to have shifted significantly towards either outright killing the program or massively nerfing it.
Seems to me like it's already settling.
@JohnnyboySP I did end up buying all the DLC for Ryza 1. I dunno, maybe if DX ever goes on sale... I feel like I got burned buying the original editions just months before they dropped DX.
@kords_soldier@Lol8ball Valve has been blocking games that sell fine on other store fronts for years. The CC processors are part of the issue but it's not exclusively why Steam is such a shitty place for Japanese games
@Lol8ball I think two things can be true: I think Valve's internal policies are way too strict and (potentially) xenophobic, and I also think that pretty much every other general game storefront that tries to directly compete with them is infinitely worse for end-users
@JohnnyboySP Oh fuck dude, 2 is probably the best one. I was so hyped for Second Story R that I bought two copies (one for PS5 and one for Steam) when it came out just to be like, "YES SQUARE ENIX I WANT MORE STAR OCEAN"
One of the few modern remakes I've been 100% satisfied with
From 1966 to 2025 we dropped sterile flies over South America that ate screwworm and thus prevented them from spreading, but the le epic efficient cracked coders at DOGE thought this was a silly waste of the ~0 dollars it cost us.
