@criticofthecath@TheRaybender@JamesSurowiecki This is very much not a Christian value.
“Love your enemy, and pray for those who persecute you.”
“You shall also love the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.”
“There is neither Jew nor Greek, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
@DrNeilStone@RealCandaceO Neil - respectfully - what the fuck? What is your problem with Massie outside of he doesn’t rubber stamp every single pro Israel bill?
@TheHolySea@DrNeilStone These factors have been investigated to an absurd degree. There is no reasonable standard of evidence that will satisfy the antivax movement, especially those who profit off it
@BriannaWu Wasn’t she fifteen? This is just cancel culture, again. I would love to hear from her on this given that she is a public figure… but can we not give people room to grow and change in 15 years?
Wishing for this to end not just her, but her husband’s career is nuts.
@capturehappy@jamestalarico What if the Bible doesn’t delineate exactly how the vulnerable should be cared for, but emphasizes repeatedly that entire nations will be judged on whether they are?
@JustinWStapley Christ was not interested in testing tribal identity (John 10:18, 12:32, Matthew 15:21-28 in the healing of the Canaanite woman). He wanted His followers to seek and spread justice and love.
@JustinWStapley Those books are still in the Bible last I checked
The Book of John is also laced with the idea that people can come to know Christ simply by being rooted in His teachings. John 4, John 9, and John 7:17 all support this idea.
@JustinWStapley Jesus was far, far more concerned with what happened in life, and that His people could live in right relationship with their neighbors, than what happened in death.
@JustinWStapley Thoughts on Romans 2:14-16 in this context?
I think Jesus is abundantly clear that He is the window through which God is accessible. But evangelicals try to read “salvation” into a lot of these verses when that simply wasn’t a large part of Jesus’s message in His day.
@adamwren@jamestalarico “And they’re gonna be right,” huff the Trump-worshipping evangelicals who apparently think Jesus spent his time on Earth talking about gay marriage, abortion, and the modern concept of hell
