I'm looking for schools who have details of their staff induction on their website, as examples of good practice. Does anyone's school website have this? Thanks #sblconnect
@sbl365 @accidentalSBM @educationgovuk Special schools have been the hardest hit with support staff pay awards too - we have a minimum of 3 LSAs within each class.
@educationgovuk we're supposed to be liaising with @DWPgovuk to avoid this. The last thing staff need during a cost of living crisis & just before Christmas. Completely avoidable also if the pay increase was actually agreed in time for April, rather than staff receiving back pay.
@sbm_jo@dragonlovingLFC Just to update - have been informed by staff that they are dismissing the letter and taking away carers allowances and/or universal credit as November pay has gone over the pay threshold. So now worse off this month than they would have been on old pay! Furious!!
Can anyone help me with staff facing cuts to carers allowance / universal credit due to backdated pay increase. How can I help them? #sblconnect#sbm#sbm
@sbm_jo@dragonlovingLFC Thank you Jo - I'm going to prepare a letter detailing what their monthly pay should have been and will continue to be to support this.
@SouthEastNEU@GMB_union Please advise how we can support these staff, where back payments each year take them over their earning allowance for 1 month and they essentially lose all their back-pay and more. @unisontheunion
@unisiontheunion @SouthEastNEU@GMB_union Reports coming from school staff who receive carers allowance and universal credit - despite a detailed letter from me explaining, their allowances have been reduced so are now financially worse off than before pay award.
@SBLconnect Looking for some (free?!) training on delegating and intro to line management - is there anything out there? Also are there any networks for office staff? Thanks
