@Rainmaker1973 98% = 98/100 = 49/50
Therefore to get from 99 lefties to 49 lefties, 50 of them need to leave the room. The one right handed person (/100) needs to remain so we are /50 still.
@lessoncopy Pretty much! 😂 Two teams stand opposite each other in lines holding hands. Team A picks someone from Team B. That person then gets to decide which linked arms they run towards to try & break the chain. If they succeed, they go back to position, if they lose they join Team A.
@scooterwriter Although he would quite happily watch the films over and over (and the Amazon TV series) whilst I kept falling asleep when we rewatched during lockdown
@WhistleblowingT I did TF…now in my 10th yr of teaching. It was hard, made harder by the fact that every sch is so different it can be horrible to look at peers having an ‘easier’ time of it in other settings. I got through it by thinking that what doesn’t kill me makes me stronger.
@Ka81 To be fair I looked on that school’s website out of curiosity and they’re opening a new sixth form in September so makes sense they are expanding
@Miss_Snuffy I had no idea about salary when I applied, as I moved due to commute and salary wasn’t published. I was offered a 5K jump despite no longer having a TLR. But I would suggest the main issue is I am one of v few in my cohort still in teaching at all! 2/2
@Miss_Snuffy I can’t read the article but I did TF nearly 10 years ago. Spent 2 yrs in my TF school then moved to a different state school for 3 yrs. Then moved to a private school and have been there for nearly 5 yrs. 1/2
@WhistleblowingT I wouldn’t call this unfair. Throughout teaching most promotions also start 1 Sep but you still do handover etc in the summer term 🤷🏻♀️ it’s normal for most jobs I think
@Headteacherchat My tutor’s mantra for when something goes wrong: “it’s not your fault, but it is your responsibility” I probably repeat this in my head daily! Also say it to many students eg to make them proactively catch up from absence
@ICTEvangelist These are an absolute staple at my school, for both staff and students. I’d never heard of a 4CB (4 colour biro) before I joined, now it’s a standard part of my vocab! They are treasured to the point that we hand out gold ones as rewards in assembly 😂
@mrswalkerteach@MrB_abc We do a staff revue every year. It’s super hectic organising it and keeping the acts secret from the kids, but it’s a lot of fun and the kids love it!
@AdrianBethune I always wished I could board - I imagined Enid Blyton - but we didn’t have the £. I now work in one & for many Ps we provide stability they may not otherwise have (military, divorce etc), others love the extra curric or social side. It’s not 4 every1, but nor is anything in life
@AdrianBethune Fair enough, thank you for explaining. In every school there are pupils who love it and pupils who struggle with the set up…I suspect boarding schools are no different. But hopefully all schools are much safer and happier places than the notorious stories we hear about years ago
