Our collaborative Nova Scotia community is coming along! Today we learned about how houses were painted with leftover paint after a fisherman painted his or her boat. We made a sailboat and a matching colour house with a partner today.

This week we had fun working together to build snowmen during gym relay races!

We are busy learning about icebreaker ships and how they help communities in Northern Canada. We built our own in the makerspace and will test them out in icy water next week!

After learning about why homes in the Arctic are built on stilts, we sketched a plan on graph paper and built our designs in Minecraft.

Today we read “Stuck” by Oliver Jeffers and worked in the maker space to create a tree that can balance all of the items in the story. Ask your child to tell you about their strategy!

Today we honoured Orange Shirt Day by listening to Nichola Campbell read “Shi-Shi-Etko,” discussing how school should look and feel, and spending time outside with our new Kindergarten friends to clean up our school yard. @Weescientists

This afternoon we went for a walk and sketched the signs of Fall. “We saw falling leaves.” “The leaves are yellow.” “The grass is turning brown.”
