RSPB Dungeness this morning, another gloomy day across the peninsula, 3 Drake Goldeneye on Burrowes this morning, a total of 10 Goldeneye were reported today. Happy New Year to all those still here.

As it’s the holiday season, here’s a Dartford Warbler, from May this year, taken at Dungeness, on a much warmer day, than it is today.

RSPB Dungeness this morning in gloomy conditions, up to 7 Goldeneye were present, even in Mid-December, there was a lot of displaying by the Drakes towards the Females.

At the Fishing Boats at Dungeness this afternoon, one of a number of Kittiwakes which passed along the beach.

A very sunny but bitterly cold visit to Littlestone Beach, late this morning, a Turnstone, one of many present.

At the Fishing Boats at Dungeness this afternoon, in gloomy conditions, the ever present TJVV, which as usual came to bread, a Caspian Gull stood watching amongst the Herring Gulls.

RSPB Dungeness in this morning’s gloom, due to sickness for a couple of weeks, I finally caught up with the Great Northern Diver & Long-tailed Duck on New Diggings, plus 2 Caspian Gulls amongst the GBB’s on Burrowes.

Dungeness today, I finally caught up with yesterday’s 1W Glaucous Gull, firstly at the ARC this morning, then this afternoon down at the point, a bit of a beast, rivalling in the size the adult black backs it was roosting with.

From the Fishing Boats at Dungeness this afternoon, feeding close in were 4 Sandwich Terns, along with numbers of Kittiwakes & Common Gulls , plus amongst the Black Headed Gulls was our old friend “TJVV”.

At RSPB Dungeness this morning in the cold gloom, which was around all day, 2 Black-necked Grebes & the Slavonian Grebe, made several close approaches towards Makepeace VP.

RSPB Dungeness this morning, one of the 16 Cattle Egrets which I saw, that are again associating with the cows at Boulderwall.

From 27.10.24 on Burrowes, RSPB Dungeness - Great Black Backed Gull “GR-HS”, run as Pullus on 01.06.23, at Zierikzee (Zuidhoekinlaag) , Zeeland, Holland.

Mid-morning at ARC Hanson Hide, RSPB Dungeness - the lone Bewick’s Swan left on its own and headed in the direction of Walland Marsh, the two Whooper Swans stayed at the ARC for a short while afterwards.

RSPB Dungeness in the sun this morning, the 2 Black Necked Grebes were reasonably close to Scott VP, plus a record shot of the Slavonian Grebe from Firth VP, the Red Throated Diver was also present but always distant.

From the Fishing Boats at Dungeness this afternoon, this Little Gull was feeding up and down just off the Beach amongst a number of Black-headed Gulls.

Lydd on Sea VC15, a cool breezy night by the sea, gave up 14 of 5, highlight & new for garden was an Autumnal Moth, only a pot shot though, plus 3 Ferrugalis, 2 Silver Y, 7 Black Rustic & 1 Red-line Quaker.
