Did any of us see this coming?
The Seahawks were at their best in 11 personnel against Kansas City:
**11 personnel: 28 plays, +0.45 EPA/play
**13 personnel: 3 plays, +0.79 EPA/play
(That 13-personnel sample included Emanuel Wilson’s 21-yard TD run.)
Seattle posted negative EPA/play in 12, 21 and 22 personnel.
For all the talk about heavier groupings, 11 personnel continues to be where this offense is most efficient.
Sam Darnold in week 7 w/ MNF still to play (DAL v PHI)
Passing success rate (5th)
Total success rate (4th)
EPA per pass play (4th)
Total EPA (3rd)
Solid bounceback game for him.
The Seahawks didn’t need some exotic plan to stop Kenneth Walker.
They just TACKLED him.
• Walker had 11 touches on KC’s 24 first-half plays
• Just 7 touches on 26 plays after halftime
• Seattle gave him almost nothing after contact
• Once the big plays disappeared, so did his impact
That might’ve been the biggest key to Seattle completely shutting down the Chiefs offense.

Whenever there's a key injury I always like to look ahead to what's next AFTER the backup.
Jones can hold it down, as he did the final 3 games of the regular season a year ago. He's a good player.
But if HE should get nicked up with Cross out? It gets dicey.
Veteran Bobby Hart is on the practice squad, and while he has 75 career starts, he's only played 6 SNAPS on the left side - ever.
The only other current option on the practice squad is Logan Brown, who I liked at the Senior Bowl in 2025 but I thought really struggled this preseason.
And if you're wondering "what about Amari Kight?" Kight showed some flashes as an UDFA rookie in 2025 but was waived with an injury settlement before week 1, and he's now on the Raiders practice squad.
The Seahawks might be missing their LT for awhile… but the backfield could be back to full health.
Charles Cross is dealing with a high ankle sprain, and it sounds like he’s out vs the Bears. The question is who steps in and who returns fast.
• Cross: high ankle sprain, likely out vs Chicago
• Josh Jones would start at left tackle in his place
• Charbonnet could be ready to go vs Bears
• Jadarian Price practice window opens this week
• Shaheed knee issue looks shorter-term
How would you feel about a Charbonnet/Price backfield moving forward? Comment your thoughts!

Former Seahawks Super Bowl champion O’Brien Schofield loved what he saw from Tyrice Knight.
Filling in for the injured Drake Thomas, Knight helped lead Seattle’s effort to take Kenneth Walker out of the game.
• Blew up runs in the backfield
• Delivered some HUGE hits on Walker
• Helped make KC one-dimensional
• Stepped up in a major way under the primetime lights
As OB explains, Seattle needed Knight to answer the call, and he absolutely did.

Nick Emmanwori does everything on defense.
From edge pressure to nickel coverage, he’s been showing up in every role since he missed early games.
• Chargers: four-point stance, rushing the passer on the edge
• Broncos: used to keep Bo Nix in check with run discipline
• Chiefs: pressure, forced INT, plus big nickel and Kelce coverage
• Also covered Xavier Worthy downfield? Yeah, that’s wild
Which matchup role was the best: edge, nickel, or coverage?

Per ESPN Research, the Seahawks are the first team since the 1984 Browns to hold their first seven opponents under 180 passing yards. They're allowing a league-low 3.99 yards per play, which is the fewest through seven games by any team since the 2019 Patriots (3.96).
The #Seahawks extend their franchise record to 36 consecutive games without allowing a 100-yard rusher.
Coincidentally, they hold Ken Walker III to 36 rushing yards.
The Seattle Seahawks have now gone 36 straight games without allowing a 100 yard rusher.
Kenneth Walker III finishes with just 36 yards on 14 carries tonight as the Hawks improve to 4-3 with a 20-3 win over the previously-undefeated Chiefs.
Meanwhile, Emanuel Wilson finished with 100 yards on 24 carries himself.
