Dr. @kizzabesigye1 yafuna the Mpanga’s nga kirabo. I was here thinking that if Baguma was JB Katutsi we would find a recreation of this in his memoir in future. In 2005 it was Daudi Mpanga against CID head Elizabeth Kutesa and Deputy DPP Byabakama. 21 years later in 2026 it’s Frederick Mpanga against Kyomuhendo. The constant is the accused.

For more than half of his life, 47 years of unwavering sacrifice, Dr. Besigye has stood as the "strong wall" shielding Ugandans from the excesses of an oppressive regime. While most celebrate such milestones in the comfort of their homes, he marks this day behind bars, yet again incarcerated for the "crime" of loving Uganda too much.

A legacy written in resilience, a physician who chose wounds of a nation rather than individual patients, the shield who has absorbed the blows of state brutality so that the hope of a democratic Uganda remains alive and the patriot who at 70 remains as relentless as he was in his youth, proving that the fire for freedom does not dim with age.

Doctor, they may have confined your body, but your spirit roams free in every Ugandan heart that yearns for justice. On this 70th birthday, we don't just wish you another year, we renew our vow to carry the torch you have held high for nearly five decades.

Whenever I reconnect with my old theatre friends, I feel immense joy, knowing we've faced industry challenges together. It brings me great happiness to see that so many of us are still alive and thriving.

Mr Mayanja Henry Kanyike and Mr Sulaiman Kiggundu are iconic figures in the world of drama. Whenever they take the stage, you can be sure it's worth your time. Their performances in plays such as "Akalabo ka Ntale" and "Omukazi Muka Ssebo" were truly engaging.

Their plays are highly educational. When they performed with the Mulago Theatre Kings, I also led my own group in Lungujja. My writing journey began in secondary school, where I authored several books and plays, such as “Olutalo lw’abasajja”, “Ensobi ya Nsobya”, “Zinunnula Omunaku”, “Ensi y’ensi”, and “Ekikolebwa mu nzikiza”.

They have asked for my help in bringing their plays back to the stage, and I am committed to supporting them fully. Soon, they will gather the rest of our colleagues so we can catch up, enjoy muchomo, and reminisce about the old days.
