The most life-saving thing you can do for a family member you love is to NEVER leave their bedside if they’re ever admitted to hospital.
Every hour you’re allowed to be there— watch over everything like you are doing the biggest test of your life. Take turns with other family members if you need to.
Every medicine, every health professional who walks in the room, any symptom your loved one experiences.
Be present. Speak up. Ask questions.
Don’t give a ___ if any unprofessional staff member tries to make you feel like you shouldn’t be there or dismisses you. The health of your loved one is too important.
Be perfectly polite and cordial but make it clear that you demand the highest standards and attentiveness.
As a doctor who has worked in dozens of hospitals in the USA and Europe— trust me when I tell you this could save your loved one’s life one day.
Be a supportive ROCK advocate at the bedside.
Dont travel tomorrow unless essential they say ..so how do we get to work.. this country and media has gone mad..red warnings etc...its a 3 day heatwave that will be gone by the weekend.
Every cafe and restaurant, every tearoom and pub garden, parents sit their little ones down and plonk a screen of some sort in front of their kid. And then ignore them.
Then the kid plays up. The kid wants attention, talking to, engaging with, playing with. Not a substitute parent that is, in fact, a phone or iPad.
Parents. Take responsibility. Take the screens away.
The great British heatwave is underway. The supermarket is packed. The sausage aisle is busier than a nightclub on New Year’s Eve. One man has no top on. A woman just said “How about some kebabs on sticks? Will they do?” A chap just muttered “mustn’t forget coleslaw”. Someone else simply shouted “BUNS!”
It’s all go.
We shall all perish in the blistering inferno.
Smouldering birds shall fall from the sky.
Trees shall burst into flame.
All that is green shall wither and die beneath a burning crimson sky.
Traffic reports will warn of melting roads and collapsing motorways as the heat tears the country apart.
Children will cry in supermarket aisles as ice cream shortages spread nationwide, with empty freezers standing like monuments to civilisation’s collapse.
The rivers will shrink.
The earth will crack.
The air itself shall shimmer with fire and smoke.
Well that’s what the Mainstream Media will have you believe anyways! 😅😂🥵
