Despite the advertising showing dedicated support for customers with sight loss @currys staff in some stores, ironically, can’t see a person with a white cane waiting for assistance and are often ignored @WhichUK@RNIB They need to do better!
@Oxfordmjk @FirstBusUK @wymetrotravel@WestYorkshireCA@RNIB@Bradford_TandA@BBCLeeds Blind and visually impaired people should not face such issues and bus companies have a duty under the Equality Act 2010. Drivers should respect these rights, providing dignity and respect. First Bus need to address this.
The Government @10DowningStreet attack on PIP and benefits will impact on blind and visually impaired people. The @UKLabour should think twice as @UKParliament on the poor quality of life that will be imposed. We are condemning our most vulnerable to misery @RNIB
Why is @WhichUK awarding endorsement(?) to retailers who possibly don’t respect those with disabilities or even the most vulnerable?? We ask the question of @WhichUK to understand. @RNIB
Still awaiting response @AldiUK if it’s policy not to actively help customers to maintain efficiency?? This by customer and practice, has an impact on blind and visually impaired people if the case? @RNIB@EHRC@WhichUK
Customer feedback @LidlGB Lucy in Bingley went out of her way to support a visually impaired person. This is how it should be at all retailers @which@RNIB Thanks Lucy!
@AldiUK Believe the visually impaired person has done and no contact as yet following your reply. If it is policy not to assist people directly, that is a real concern @RNIB@which? The Equality Act applies @EHRC
@AldiUK is it true that as a matter of policy, staff are not allowed to actively assist customers but passively point them to direction of item??? Is this not discriminatory @rnib@EHRC ?? Has @WhichUK as a ‘consumer champion’ ever considered equality in its own assessments?
@LidlGB staff are more compassionate from customer experiences gained, than @AldiUK it seems. Lidl staff apparently go that extra mile by helping sight loss customers genuinely @RNIB@WhichUK Perhaps Aldi could learn? @BBCNews@ConsumerReports
@bradfordcouncil wastes money then wants to increase council tax by 15% meanwhile Bradford Interchange is a mess with people with disabilities including blind having to walk distances to get a taxi. @BBCLeeds@mhclg@RNIB -appalling!
There are vulnerable people including blind stuck at home as @bradfordcouncil fails to grit streets due to cuts. This has been over a week with ice on pavements in deprived areas @BBCLeeds@SkyNews Bins have not been collected and over flowing for rats. It’s appalling @LGAcomms
From a VIP resident in Bradford (city of culture?)who tried to navigate rail station “it took me 15 minutes to try to find the entrance to the interchange, there is no light in the dark morning and it’s like a maze they don’t care” @Bradford_TandA@bradfordcouncil@RNIB@BBCNews
Yet more concerns @bradfordcouncil Interchange and disastrous access for people with disabilities as more struggle for this supposedly City of culture clearly no disabled allowed? @SkyNews@EHRC@RNIB@Bradford_TandA Shame!
Apparently @FCDOGovUK travel website don’t do reasonable adjustments especially if you have sight loss and cannot view the website maybe one for @AnnelieseDodds@RNIB clearly not equality proof @10DowningStreet
@waitrose may be a premier brand but home delivery doesn’t seem to be the best for sight loss as one member has found out. At Christmas vulnerable people need support not bureaucracy and poor service @RNIB
@bradfordcouncil continues its city of chaos for people with disabilities as pedestrianisation not totally disabled friendly. The interchange remains a disability hell and no adjustments @Bradford_TandA@BBCLeeds@guardian@RNIB avoid Bradford!
