I was simultaneously thinking to myself “why do the neighbors avoid me” and “I really wanna take my turtle on a minibike ride” when it occurred to me that the two thoughts are probably directly linked.
Lord Jesus,
Thank You for the blessing of this Tuesday morning with my brother & sisters.
Lord, take the reins & align our day with Your divine will.
Steer us away from the temptation of sin, & lead us to Your righteous light.
I pray You help us with understanding, so that conflict & drama aren't the outcome of our expressions.
Let us communicate clearly & with love.
We all fall short of Your glory, but help us strive to reflect the love & grace You give us every day.
Help us overcome grudges & bad feelings towards one another.
Remind us to support each other, & that criticism given with love is better than silent grudges.
Give us the details of the missions ahead so that we may have success as the outcome of all we do.
Remind us that we should lift each other up rather than dismiss each other's efforts.
Lord, when we slip, give us the insight to see where we went wrong so we don't repeat those mistakes.
I am Your attentive student.
In the precious & beautiful name of Jesus,
I pray,
Amen & Amen.
Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Day 7: Heart of Jesus, Source of All Consolation
Today we reflect on the Sacred Heart as a source of strength, comfort, and peace. Pope Francis reminds us that devotion to the Sacred Heart is a sharing in Christ’s love, a love that accompanies us through suffering and assures us that we are never alone.
Saint Francis de Sales wrote, “Surely it is a source of profound consolation to know that we are loved so deeply by our Lord, who constantly carries us in his heart.”
Let us pray:
I believe, O Lord, but strengthen my faith.
Heart of Jesus, I love Thee; but increase my love.
Heart of Jesus, I trust in Thee; but give greater vigor to my confidence.
Heart of Jesus, I give my heart to Thee; but so enclose it in Thee that it may never be separated from Thee.
Heart of Jesus, I am all Thine; but take care of my promise so that I may be able to put it in practice even unto the complete sacrifice of my life. Amen.
— Blessed Miguel Pro, S.J.
Today, consider entrusting your intentions to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and praying for those who are in need of consolation, strength, and hope.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in You.
Reminder: We will pray the Consecration prayer as a parish on Friday at all Masses. ❤️🔥
@PhilWhittlesee@MrLeadslinger Lol, I can get as far as “an armed society is a polite society” while nodding enthusiastically. Shooting the unintelligent on the side of the highway might be a little further than I’m willing to go, though 😂
That’s absolutely a concern, but the same can be said for any number of aftermarket-modified lowered cars, luxury vehicles, heavy duty pickups, and exotics that can’t be towed with conventional light duty trucks, either. Respect for what you do, but we can’t pass laws just to make service jobs easier, you know? We’re in full agreement, especially from the perspective of the guy just tryin to get these goofy trucks off (or back on) the road, that the trend is obnoxious though.
@MrLeadslinger I don’t love the trend, but you’d better have 0% crime in your county before you start telling cops to actively enforce this kind of thing.
I’ve considered rigging my ride with some pretty high-intensity spotlights for similar reasons, and am a fellow headlight gentleman (I pull out of my driveway at night with just running lights so as not to light up the neighbors houses, for instance). I miss my 250 for that very reason, never had any headlight headaches at all in that thing 😁
@VikingArisin@MrLeadslinger All the best people are 😎 I do grasp your sentiment though, and would go so far as to say that they’re likely not the good kind of maladaptive. Still, I’m not ready to start policing for style (or a lack thereof)
