It's December, the last month of the year. Bats are hibernating. They may roost on their own or in small groups, often in cool, quiet places like disused buildings, old trees or caves, where they hopefully won't be disturbed.
An evening of fun and celebration as we announce award winners and induct some new members into the BCT Hall of Fame.
8pm 7th Dec - held on Zoom and hosted by BCT Trustee Cerys Bradley and BCT's Helpline Co-Manager Hannah van Hesteren

It is December and temperatures are dropping! Bats should be hibernating now. They may roost on their own or in small groups, often in cool, quiet places like disused buildings, old trees or caves, where they hopefully won't be disturbed.

Anyone else still getting bat activity? Many other animals that #hibernate are triggered by day length (photoperiod), but #bats extending periods of #torpor into full on #hibernation is triggered by a sustained drop in temperature.
