As a member of clinical staff I know about the pressure we face in primary care . As a user of the system I have never been so upset frustrated and angry. I can completely understand the anger of our patients! It feels impossible to get basic help.
How important maintenance of their condition is, preventer inhalers are crucial and with appropriate doses.
Mostly how lucky I am to be fit and well. Based on this experience with my partner I will remember how scary it can be and treat my patients accordingly!
Asthmatics have most of them !
It has reminded me most of all about how poor knowledge in primary care and hospitals, of asthma is. How easy it would be to end up in AE or to have a significant asthma attack, because they give up trying to be seen.
