Just nipped into @BootsUK . This (non-fluoride) toothpaste is next to this sign. It suggests to parents that this expensive toothpaste is going to protect kids teeth. It won't. Esp in Nottingham where we have no fluoride in our water, dentist shortages and kids with rotting teeth
@IAmJessPlant ...Been able to be kinder to myself & explain what I find harder and start to build some self esteem & notice what it enables me to do. On the other hand, my mini me 6 yr old is being brought up to celebrate her strengths &understand her difficulties which look a bit like adhd.
@IAmJessPlant I work in education where diversity is often celebrated except disability and neurodiversity. Autism and ADHD are often seen as 'issues'. As someone diagnosed with ADHD in my late 30's, I am in some ways grateful that I wasn't diagnosed as a child as I have....
@98Apples@KaySocLearn How did that go on for 23 mins? I lasted 2... do 'children' (who I assume are secondary and therefore don't often see themselves as such) actually listen to this? I guess this is not a school where students do an end of year 'skit' because you'd be really setting yourself up 😂
Proud to be a small cog in this phenomenal large wheel. Moreover - to have had both my children (one currently and one formerly) educated here is a huge blessing in theirs and our lives.
Thrilled to share our recent Ofsted report celebrating our 'thriving' school community! 👏
'There is a shared, ambitious vision for the school, which is fully realised and evident across all areas of provision.'

@ccwild79 Yes! Making care experience a protected characteristic is vital. I'm a foster parent- my FD 20, still lives with us thru shared lives & is one of the few lucky(ish) ones by having security and a stable family - developmental trauma impacts lives - care compounds that
SIAMS Inspection 2024:
We are living up to our foundation as a Church school, and are enabling pupils and adults to flourish!
A lovely celebration of our wonderful community and wider partnerships.👏

@ElissaNoves@Warwickshire_CC@LArcheUK@JohnCassonUK I think a number of our founding community members with a learning disability would have a word or two about what the 'alternative' was when Cllr Hemmersley was at school and that we must NEVER return to those solutions.
@WorldBookDayUK@tracyshopkins 🤦🏽♀️WBD didn't say 'libraries arent important' but being read to,choice, time etc enable kids to RfP. A library can be the catalyst but simply going won't develop these key skills- the others do. Libraries are amazing, so are book swaps, 2ndhand shops, well chosen bookbixes in class
@BehaviouralEdu1@BookinaBox3 In Nottingham we have 5 weeks in the summer and 2 weeks in October- we still get time for R&R but the two weeks in often the longest term is wonderful. (Both as parent and school support staff)
@PilsonAnna Yes, this is me entirely - I have been rationing mine which has meant I'm all over the place. My non med days are worse than my pre med days. I managed to fulfil my prescription today but now trying to plan what next.
Unable to attend this evening to be nominated and shortlisted as an access champion is simply astonishing. Proud to be a part of the incredible access team at @greenbelt#accessforall
