@billbarnwell This is sad man. I really did respect your work for a long time.
In no world is Josh Allen even close to the QB of the decade. As much as I hate to say it, it isn’t Lamar either.
It’s so clearly Patrick Mahomes. There is no debate. There’s nothing to talk about. It’s him.
@FlockCwood You can’t know whether Adley declining the extensions was the result of the extensions being low-ball offers or Adley expecting too much. You do not know the terms of the offers. The point that extensions were offered is almost irrelevant when you don’t know the terms.
@OriolesMagic23 I’m mad we had a fire sale at all. No one in the AL is good. Bassitt, Adley, Basallo, Blaze all coming back. 2.5 GB. Gunnar FA ‘28. Holliday FA ‘31. What window are we playing for? What was this all for if not to try to win now? Will we ever try? Forget Adley, we traded Wells?
@jcalvinmeyer Additionally, the players in that clubhouse know, if they’re a couple of games out of the WC come the trade deadline, rest assured, the season is over and the front office doesn’t believe in them.
Doesn’t matter who you are, what you mean to the team, the culture, the city.
@ryanripkenshow I’m 32. I’ve been waiting for the “future” for all but 7 yrs of my fandom (2012-2016, 2023-2024). Let me know when the future becomes the present, and I’ll start spending my hard earned money again. 2.5 GB in the WC, in our window, and we sell the face of the franchise to Boston.
@jcalvinmeyer 494 words and does not address the fans at any point while answering a question hypothetically being posed by the fans. Does not thank the fans. Does not comment that he can understand the fans being upset. Nothing.
@caseybnew They just did. And he said he didn’t give up and he didn’t dismantle the team and they’re still playing for the playoffs. Honestly pretty sick strategy to just talk down to everyone - other GMs, the players, the fans. We’re all idiots. He can just lie. What’re you gonna do?
@jcalvinmeyer I don’t think front offices should listen to fans in a lot of cases. But this is wild. I mean just zero respect for the intelligence of the fans who put dollars in his pockets. If he wants to sell, okay, disagree, but okay. But be a man about it. Stand 10 toes down on it.
@EBoKnowss Born in ‘93. Right there with you. As low as I’ve ever felt as a fan. I don’t care if it’s irrational. I truly do not care about the return at all.
@OriolesStatist1 I think I’m out honestly. At least on this front office. At least Duquette tried to win. If, as a front office, you’re always preparing for next year, you never have to be held accountable for how this year turns out.
@jcalvinmeyer But Jacob, in this situation, Leody was holding the bat with his right hand and the pitcher was throwing with his left. Surely this trumps all other factors when making match-up decisions?
@OriolesStatist1 I’m here as well. Love the content. What is your take on the O’s trading Adley within striking distance of the wild card? I would have an extremely hard time stomaching that.
@DillonTAtkinson I’m at the game tonight supporting the team, and am right there with you. If they trade Adley and restart a rebuild or a pseudo-rebuild, I am disengaging for an extended period.
@BurakYngn@sergiodelgado Soccer’s growth trend in the U.S. over the past 20 years has been incredible, especially when compared to its own starting point, hockey, and even baseball.
It simply cannot and will not overtake American Football here. No sport will anytime soon. Like…50 years soon.
@CodifyBaseball Using still images instead of video to support the POV we already had? Count me in.
He is running out of the baseline to avoid the tag attempt. He’s not running in the shape of a question mark because that’s just how he would’ve ran the bases anyway.
