@fatpants0211@Mimzy9090 Not allowed to drive past them in either direction, except on a divided highway, because kids might be crossing the road. In a lot of states it puts a *ton* of points on your license.
@acboyko@Chopstickes4@DJSnM Ships generally take a lot of maintenance though - saltwater corrodes things.
When you get into large-scale structural work, "weld it in place and grind it off later" is a better solution than it feels like at first glance.
@ThirdPlanettt@InternetH0F Gas permeates through plastic slowly over time - as long as it's pressurized a bit at the factory, the bag will equalize with ambient pressure wherever it's stored: https://t.co/VND1tzBymE
@Shaggins31@Nerbit_13098 I like FO3 over New Vegas, so I figured I'd give a detailed take:
I don't like most of the writing in New Vegas. It's a little too... video-gamey? Like your player is just too "special" and the world cares about you a little too much.
FO3 strikes the balance better for me.
@Esto_Max@stottpie@narrenhut That's not really how statistics works. Yes it's not impossible, but you're not trying to definitively prove it could never happen.
With a probability that low, there's a 99.99999% chance this person is lying. That may not be enough 9's
@rnelson0@3RenChengHu@LinkofSunshine Iunno, I think the phrasing at the end seems pretty passive aggressive. In particular "I do wonder if this is your intention" is hard to interpret in a way that isn't some kind of veiled negativity.
@TarrickMerdev@ryxcommar@colin_fraser I think this is just nostalgia-goggles, I use every version of Windows at work running old lab equipment that needs specific software.
Older File Explorer versions are just missing features. I'm not a fan of the Win11 file explorer but Windows 7 is clunky and XP is worse.
@soteropolotario @jbowmandavis @20gaShotgun I think calling the Raytheon one evil requires a specific epistemological framework.
Personally, I was very anti-war until the Ukraine War, and I realized there's a Prisoner's Dilemma at play and being unambiguously anti-war is deliberately failing the Dilemma.
@Nicklibby @ovioviobio @acnewsitics Look, I get you're trying to do a culture war thing, but it really would help to think about it for a second.
If you're in a big city, runoff is usually pretty contaminated. Swimming in urban rivers and ponds is just not a good idea.
@ScottSmialkowsk@PrezLives2022 Yep -Starlink is based on Viasat and other satellite internet services that have been around for decades.
Starlink is better than the competition by a massive amount because of scale and LEO deployment, but at the core it's legacy technology.
