I was at Walmart today, minding my own business and checking out the zucchini.
A woman walked up next to me with who I assume was her husband. She was wearing a hijab.
And then… absolutely nothing happened.
She went about her shopping. I went about mine. Her choice to wear a hijab had absolutely zero impact on my day, my freedom, or my ability to buy zucchini.
She didn’t tell me I needed to wear one.
She didn’t try to force one on me.
She didn’t hold me down and put one on my head.
I know. Crazy, right?
Almost like people can practice their own religion, wear what they choose, and live their lives without forcing everyone else to live the same way.
Wild concept.
@Juice01Jungle@LawyerAdamHouda 100% correct. Unless of course they openly & constantly advocate unwavering support for said government and their actions, as is the case here.
@doctor_rahmeh@UnityNewsNet An unconfirmed report suggests Simon Levy had been operating under a "free rape pass" given to him by the Met due to his assumed heritage. He was arrested only when it was discovered that he was in fact an obese black man & the clerical error was corrected.
@DavidPocock@jeromelaxale Kayo charge $30 pm to watch the footy & blast gambling ads non-stop. Kids watch the footy through their parents paid subscriptions. There is NO option to turn the ads off. They know exactly what they're doing. Grooming the next generation. Its a fcuken disgrace.
A fascinating interview in Haaretz today with an IDF artillery soldier, part of the crew that fired thousands of shells into Gaza. She has been discharged and now suffers from PTSD, partly due to trauma from combat in Lebanon and partly due to the realization she has been part of and responsible for severe war crimes:
1) She was responsible for targeting. Not picking the targets but making sure they were hit: ""My job was to calculate firing data, prepare targets, and send them to the soldiers on the guns."
2) She explains how innacurate artillery is and how its use is inherently killing civilians even in cases where the target is military: "In the army they told us we only kill terrorists, but that's a lie. Artillery fire isn't accurate — a hit within a 50-meter radius is considered a good hit."
3) She did not process all the people she had killed until after discharge. The IDF atmosphere is designed to protect you from that realization: ""I left the army and saw the number of children who had been killed, and I was shocked. I started searching obsessively. I looked up the neighborhoods we'd attacked, the villages. I saw that a lot of innocent people were killed in those places. I saw photos of dead children."
4) The guilt ate her up: ""In my head I see the children dying, the mothers crying. I imagine them pulling out the bodies. The guilt doesn't leave. How is it possible? I killed an innocent girl. I'm the one who fed in the targets. It's on me."
5) It changed her political opinions: "Before the army I was far-right, the kind who says 'death to Arabs.' But after the war I understood there's a difference between Hamas terrorists and Palestinian civilians who want peace, who want life."
6) She wants to atone but does not know how: ""I understood that I want to help as many people as possible — to atone for everything I did, for all the dead babies."
This person is a war criminal. But she is also a victim of a society and army which raises you to be a war criminal. Her story is a reminder that these soldiers are human beings. Maybe they can be reached and their minds changed. But it is also a reminder of how the genocidal system that produced her creates criminals and manufactures consent for crimes.
@markgkenny Australian sport has a sordid history with dubious sponsors. Kayo blasts you & your kids with sports betting ads every game you watch. No option to turn it off. Not unlike the Winfield Cup & Benson & Hedges Cricket from years gone by.
Netanyahu just said that Israel has "special forces" ready if he's arrested while visiting America…
Do you know what he means by that?
He’s saying he’s ready to KlLL American police if they try to enforce his arrest warrant.
Australia has gone from zero to $1 Trillion in public debt in <20yrs. The NACC set up 3yrs ago to tackle corruption has cost tax payers $220M for just one conviction is a classic example of how this has happened.
My latest article in The Shot
After spending obscene amounts of taxpayer's money on luxury travel, office refurbishments and airfares from their homes to their Canberra office, I examine the high price Australians have paid so far for an impotent #NACC

@DarcyAmaroo The Greens get massive points for these issues. But they also waved through BIG tax increases inc the worlds highest CGT rates that effected every worker & productive element who pay more tax every year to fund gov't mismanagement. We've gone from $0 to $1T in debt in <20yrs.
Every dollar the government illegally steals from you, is misspent and not used to actually benefit your quality of life. That misspending is then used to steal more money from you, to further your personal destruction.
@FetchStep Greens, Independents like David Pocock & some Teals are the best options.. A few Labor candidates like Ed Husic are worthy.. Liberal, Nationals & OneNation with few exceptions are 100% Žl0 cucks. Greens want to increase taxes further which limits their vote.
@essenviews FOX News wants to talk about children being raped by immigrants. Not children being raped by President Trump. Why is that hard to understand?
Husic's "attempt to amend the party platform to take a tougher line on Israel in relation to the conflict in Gaza & the West Bank failed on Saturday (conference), after the MARITIME UNION withdrew its support." @abcnews
Union brothers from 1976 totally betrayed @sallymcmanus
More Jewish settler violence supported by IDF directed at Palestinians. Question for Royal Commission: does the behaviour of this ethno-nationalist state fuel antisemitism? It must. It’s why 80% of Australians now have negative views of Israel.
