The Henry Nowak case - and especially the muted reaction to it of the political establishment - says so much about what is wrong with our country. I feel that, like Southport, it will, in years to come, be seen as a pivotal moment causing a shift in the public mood. People can see what’s going on, and they are growing more and more angry.
@tomhfh They should be looking to charge all who contributed to Henrys death. The family of the attacker, those who removed the murder weapon, those who misled others which resulted in Henry loosing his life.
Utterly heartbreaking - why didn’t they check immediately.
He wasn’t being aggressive - why did they cuff him when he was basically incapacitated?….
Those there must be ashamed & should face thorough investigation.
I’ve also just seen the bodycam footage of the police arresting Henry Nowak.
I’m not going to share it as it is unbelievable, heartbreaking and deeply, deeply disturbing.
That poor young man.
His poor family, knowing that was their son’s life ended.
Simply horrific.
“I’ve been stabbed.”
“Whereabouts? I don’t think you have mate.”
“I can’t breathe”
“Get the hand in the cuff.”
RIP Henry.

@MrsEmmaWebber You are all so brave. Standing up for your babies and loved one just like they tried so hard to do aswell. You must be so proud. Hold on to that! I can only imagine how proud your boy must be of you watching you - love to you all x
@JayneCellis Having lost my Dad who was on end of life care at home, I hope they have as much time to talk about happy times, hug, have a cheers to their time together & prey for more. Sending love
🚩 This is a massive red flag.
Dropping “His Majesty’s” is not simply aesthetics or style. It’s constitutional vandalism. By removing the “HM” Starmer’s Labour government is trying to remove the habit of accountability. They’re deliberately trying to get you to forget the constitutional authority to govern comes from.
It strips away the constitutional truth that ministers serve, that power is delegated by the Crown, and that the state is not the property of politicians.
This is how an authoritarian mindset alters the narrative: quietly and administratively, and denied at every stage.
Add to this the erosion of trial by jury and it becomes clear this name change is not a one-off issue, but part of a pattern. It’s a grab for self-appointed authority with reduced oversight.

@ChemmySki how you continued talking & presenting this morning was something. I watched your excitement even yesterday & it was infectious. I am so gutted for @lindseyvonn you are pure determination. Pure power. I am sending prayers & love
@TheFigen_ It would be my Dads birthday today. We lost him in September. What I would give to ring him to sing our silly song, him answer. And finish with “see you in a bit” before heading off to meet him 💔
🚨 12,000+ IRANIAN CIVILIANS MURDERED BY ISLAMIC OCCUPATION FORCES
According to an internal IRGC review, since the start of the uprising, Iranians have suffered war-level casualties.
Despite this, crowds across Iran continue to grow.

"Shut the embassies, freeze the assets and put the IRGC on the terrorist list. If you do that, the regime is isolated."
Omid Djallili, actor and comedian, on what the Iranian protesters want.
#Newsnight
Limited messages are emerging from inside Iran. One woman describes the regime hunting protesters, then forcing their families to pay to retrieve their bodies after they are killed.
There is no going back now. If this uprising is crushed, the Islamic Republic will unleash a campaign of mass executions against those whose only crime was demanding freedom.
🔴 Reportedly Pounak, Tehran, now.
I'm asking every major account to please amplify optimistic messages and news, as a counterbalance to only doomsday casualty news.
People are out and fighting for their lives.
Don't scare them into going home.
If the Iranian regime falls, how will the BBC explain to its viewers that protests, street demonstrations and uprisings have been going on in many places for 11 days already, and they haven’t really covered it?
