Born To Run.
To say that this record changed my life would be a massive understatement. It wasn’t just a great rock n roll record to me. The album and the song sparked something inside of me and made me want to do something. Anything.
It made me want to be somebody different than the mixed up lonely kid listening to it in the dark.
It fired my imagination.
I was a fifteen year old misfit with bad skin and I was going to buy a guitar and learn how to make it talk.
I wanted to case the promised land in a suicide machine.
As soon as I got my learners permit.
I wanted to want someone and love someone so much that I would be willing to die with them on the streets tonight in an everlasting kiss.
I still want that.
Now I’m 66 and I’m scared and I’m thinking that maybe we ain’t that young anymore.
Fuck that.
I’m going to play Born To Run today and remember...

Em França, foi conhecido há umas semanas um relatório sobre a Irmandade Muçulmana elaborado pelo senado a pedido do Ministério do Interior. O seu teor não teve grande eco na imprensa portuguesa. É pena e é estranho porque o que lá está escrito é mesmo preocupante.

Ficámos a saber que a irmandade muçulmana em França tem a estratégia discreta, paciente, mas assumida de criar ou infiltrar centenas de associações cívicas, escolas, autarquias e instituições do Estado, esperando o momento em que possam criar aquilo que o estudo designa como “ecossistemas” islâmicos de base local. Nesses territórios as leis da república valeriam, na prática, menos que a sharia, a “lei divina” muçulmana, onde não há nem separação, nem sequer diferença entre política e religião.

E em Portugal? Como de costume, ninguém sabe. O descontrolo das fronteiras em anos recentes nem permite saber com rigor o número de imigrantes, quanto mais saber se alguns poderão ter criado estruturas da irmandade muçulmana no nosso país.

Por isso, sem medo, quero chamar a atenção para esta ameaça agora antes que seja tarde demais. E quero apelar às autoridades de segurança interna para que apurem o que se passa com a irmandade muçulmana em Portugal e que divulguem as respectivas conclusões.

A Arábia Saudita, o Egipto e os Emiratos Árabes, países que islamofóbicos não devem ser, já baniram a irmandade muçulmana.

O meu respeito pelo islamismo religioso não me impede de alertar para os perigos do islamismo político subversivo.
