How to comprehend extinction? Ireland has 138 breeding pairs of Curlews, a 97% decrease since I was little. Within 5-10 years they may go extinct altogether. What does that look like? I drew 138 Curlew couples, flying but getting nowhere, dwindling down to a last, solitary bird.
