An exciting Palearctic record of a Whimbrel ringed at KBO.

A nice illustration of how colonies are connected via this bird and thanks to @jan___rod . It was born at Portrane (co. Dublin) in 2021, caught as a nesting adult at Baltray (co. Louth) in 2023 and this year has been caught again at Kilcoole (co. Wicklow)!
Southern Bohemia today, rather crazy idea of trying to find Red-breasted Geese in flock of few thousands White-fronts and Greylags just with the bins, but scored again🤪
Walcreeper wintering site,Pálava,Czech Republic. Only 1-3 birds winters in the country each year. It was my bogey bird for ages, dipped several times some 14 years ago and never came back to try again.Until yesterday. Now big fat lifer ✅️
Two great waders caught and ringed over last 2 nights.Woodcock was always one of my most favourite and wanted birds, and I never even thought about ringing Grey Plover!
@R_ichT@GrahamProle@BirdWatchIE@collieennis All 5 present this evening and 3rd sibling ringed CDZP. All good healthy weight about 10kg. They are becoming independent on their dad and flying up and down the canal.
Probably last two Ringed Plover chicks ringed in Portrane this summer.First at 35 grams big enough for colour, second one nearly half size 18 grams, but they are always hanging together, behaving like siblings and following the same adult🤔
Sorting out some photos and videos from Portrane Little Tern ring reading camera today. This snap of A9H ad IZ8 probably going to be my favourite one of 2023
