Is eye-rolling the most autistic reaction ever? I know eye-rolling isn’t exclusive to autistic people, but many of us roll our eyes more often than most. I’m always rolling my eyes. If I hear rubbish from anyone, my eyes automatically roll. I can’t help it. I mean no disrespect.
does anyone else ever feel hopeless because you know you’ll never be able to function normally, look the way you want to, and will never be mentally normal or is it just me
“You need to try harder.”
“Don’t be lazy.”
“Nobody likes doing that stuff.”
“Just make a plan & stick to it.”
“Set a reminder in your phone.”
“It’s not that difficult. Grow up.”
Those with #ADHD know how it feels to struggle with basic habits that seem “easy” to other people 😞
Me: don't call people the r word. It's ableist and not cool
Society: okay I'll call them a moron
Me: no, that's also ableist and not okay
Society: well how am I meant to insult people based on their cognitive skills and perceived intellect
Me: you're not. That's the point.
“You have special needs.”
“You’re not disabled. You’re differently abled.”
“Don’t say disabled. Say handicapable.”
Euphemisms for “disabled” are the product of society’s discomfort with and devaluation of disabled
people.
Euphemisms are ableism.
