Code Veronica means a lot to me as it was what got me into the re series when I was like 12 because I was intrigued by the plot and people’s hatred for Steve. I do however agree that many things probably need to be changed
code veronica means a lot to me because it shows the redfield siblings haunted by their grief and trauma . claire has to relive raccoon city but WORSE after only 3 months , and chris once again has to not only confront his former captain , but worry for his sister's safety .
i’m not going to judge capcom too heavily bc it’s been almost 20 years since that game came out but we as a community can be a little more conscious about what we say about mentally ill people and victims of incest especially. alfred won’t hear your insults but real victims will.
critrole is also so inaccessible to people who aren't willing to dedicate literal hours to understanding a full dnd world which is hilarious when you see larpers going "oh they only got cast because of cr" Yeah the triple A company saw his work as Chetney and got convinced
My one issue is if code Veronica does go into the possible Nazi connections with the ashfords and umbrella…it makes Spencer’s partial redemption a bit more awkward after re9. It’s always been awkward to me but yeah.
The ashfords are creepy in a way of eugenics like. Test tube babies who have blonde hair and blue eyes and most likely have implied incest. I wish they kept the more on the nose nazi inspired things in early concepts of the game instead of toning it down.
The story so far:
3 months after the Raccoon City disaster, Claire Redfield is captured by Umbrella while in search of her brother Chris, and taken to the remote Rockfort Island, where she must make a desperate attempt to escape a living hellscape of survival horror.

I do adore Claire’s new design I just wish Capcom wasn’t allergic to color but I get it especially given what Claire is doing in cv. it makes sense for to have more black to sneak around to get intel on where her brother is
